We stayed at the hotel for three days and were very satisfied. We stayed there already three years ago before hotel was renovated and there is no comparison. The hotel in beautiful, staff very friendly and we have only positive words to say. Rooms clean and elegant, everything tidy and great. We will come back as soon as possible.
It was a saturday afternoon and we expected a bit of rush but we found over booked pools, with no possibility to swim or use whirpools. We stayed 40 min and head out (we had 120 min ticked). We heard good critict even reccomendations, bur our experience was different.
Recently renovated hotel has much to offer. Great selection at breakfast including esspresso at the Tree top restaurant impressed me the most. Spa and massages are great too. Both poll areas with sea or termal-sea water are a very good alternative to enjoy summer in winter. Staff was friendly and helpful, WiFi excellent, location the best in Portorož, only the size of the rooms doesn't really deserve 5 stars.
The best thing in this hotel is the very friendly staff, highly professional. Also the breakfast is great. The rooms are ok but no more than 3* superior or maybe 4* despite the renovation. The tapas bar was not operating in the evening, this was a pity since we came late and wanted a qiuck bite. There is room for improvoment but we would come back again.
Where is the 5 stars? Service like a 3 stars and room furniture like a 4 stars Impossible to change the gradus of the room less than 22, absolutely wrong all the light system (seems a hotel 20 years old), doors and walls not well soundproof, the lounge bar is the same of the entrance hall, no special zones for 5 stars guests. We were woken up by the room keeper that started to clean at 8.30 a.m. in the next room We are very disappointed. Pity!!
From the very first moment we recognized the biggest benefit of the Hotel – great staff!!! Reception – friendly, warm welcome, quick check in. Bell boys – also with smiles, fast with the luggage delivery. They care about our car, when we need a car – they delivered car in front of the Hotel in a few minutes. Outside parking was free of charge. Rooms – side sea view, room 709 - beautiful sunset. Clean room, clean bathroom with everything inside. Restaurant – very good offer – breakfast and dinner. Again - entire staff friendly, fast. Lot of smiles and positive communication. Lobby bar - nice looking, good offer with beautiful piano music. One evening we were in the Istrian Tapas bar - nice food and atmosphere. Wifi - inside entire Hotel a good connection and free of charge. We were in new renovated Spa Centre inside the Hotel. Clean, warm. Wai Thai Centre inside the Spa - we used massage –back, and 80 min beauty treatment. Six minutes’ walk (not too far) through the corridors is located big central Spa.They have an excellent Sauna world, top class level. Following reviews from June 2016 we recognized in Hotel Slovenija a lot of positive changes and their wish to give a top quality.
Sea view room at 7th floor with balcony, excellent breakfast, pleasant service, new swimming pool, access to sauna, really it is hotel to be recommended for short term stay. Only the elevators are too slow.
Hotel Slovenija is part of historical hotels in Portoroz. In 2016 it was fully refurbisht and that in a good fashion. Modern interior, nice rooms and common areas. There are here or there some things which could be better, like wind blowing inside reception but this is something which can be fixed. You really cant complain about what they did. They are still in process of refurbishment of outside pool but because we were here in November it wasnt such a pain. But what we missed was 5 star personel. Unforunetlly they got stucked in service. First of all it started on reception. There was not lobby boy who would bring in our bags. We waited at reception for 15 min before we started the process of check-in. For sure it was a bit more people doing check in, because of that you need additional people. Waiters at the restaurant are below average. Not all of them. You can find here and there some jewels but most of the time they look away when things have to be done. We also went to Terme Portoroz. We were here 6-7 years ago. Since then nothing has changed. The place needs a good refurbishment if the owners want to keep their guest. Service is poor to be frank. Definetlly we wont be coming back in near future.
For my opinion this is one of the best hotels in Slovenian coast since the last upgrade to 5* and renovation in 2016i It is also one of the best price/value offer you can get on our coast. The food is also superior so visit Hotel Slovenija Lifeclass.
Amazing hotel in every sense. Great location and a incredible spa. Friendly staff and I wish to emphasize Ana Kosmac professional attitude and kindness. She gives a 6* to this hotel. We'll come back soon!
