 Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide

We stayed at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel whilst in Adelaide recently. We walked in with no advance booking and were given a nightly rate of $168. We were there for 2 nights. The room was tiny, bed, desk, dresser. A bathroom that you had to squeeze into & shut the door before you could open the shower door. The basin tucked into an alcove that left no room for a brush or hairdryer let alone a toiletry bag. It was cold with no thermostat, hall carpets grubby. None of these things would be a real issue but after a long walk the next morning & settling down to a late brunch a good distance away from the hotel they called us to advise that the rates were increasing to $199 for the next night & we could remove our belongings immediately if we didn't want to pay that. We were a little outraged but gave them the benefit of the doubt. There was never any question that we were staying just one night. We were booked to fly out of Adelaide after 2 nights. But they told us we had only booked one night & had no choice but to pay extra or leave. Rushing back from where we were to pack & leave was not really possible due to the distance and health issues that prevent us seriously rushing. So we paid the extra. We put it down to miscommunication. On another note the restaurant in the hotel had no ambience, was cold, had high prices & a TV showing sporting events. (Not a plus in my personal opinion). The bar was tiny & poorly stocked. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Another great stay. Staff were fantastic as usual ( thumbs up). Room was clean, bathroom was clean.bed was comfy. Breakfast was also good. Again just parked car and made our way around city on foot. Will be booking this hotel for future stays.

This hotel is a grand old girl who is completely loved by her staff and this shows from check-in to check-out and everything in between. Even the barista at breakfast turned out to be the General Manager! Hands on ! I want to name all the wonderful staff but just too many to list.

If you stay here for one reason let it be the location. It is so convenient and a short walk into the CBD-you are surrounded by shops and restaurants and won't need to travel far to find what you want. The room is also great quality and comfortable. Recommended for sure.

a comfortable hotel, though somewhat showing signs of aging, in a great location for everything in the CBD. Very good staff, thank you, and a good restaurant. The building shares with the Ibis, I think Ibis are on different floors from the Mercure clients. The in house restaurant is good, not flash, but presents a good range on the menu and is enjoyable. The underfloor garage is a bit of a challenge, as it has many colums, but is reflective of the age of the hotel, having been the original stables. An enjoyable stay with nice people

The Mercure Grosvenor is value for money. It is clean and comfortable. A great location, a five minute walk to Rundle Mall, Hindley Street, the Casino and easy access to the pedestrian bridge over the River Torrens to the Adelaide Oval.

We recently stayed at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel for two separate nights and were very impressed by the friendliness and willingness of staff to go out of their way to assist us. Food at the newly changed restaurant was very good, with a small but interesting menu. Rooms were quite and very comfortable, although temperature was a little higher than ideal. The use of the Next Generation gym facility was an added bonus if you have the time.

Room not ready long wait at check-in. Told luggage would be taken to room while we went out for walk, did not happen. Got to room key cards did not work. On departure again told luggage would be loaded for us did not happen. Tried restaurant over priced and poor value.

We were upgraded to a suite facing the front of the hotel and the worst nights sleep ever room 205. The noise from the hotel on the corner and the general street noise was constant all night. Then the council decides to blower vac the street at 5.30 am in the morning. Last straw I am not renewing my accor card.

Stayed two nights. Old Hotel that has been updated. Lots of corridors - and room sizes are much smaller than big modern properties (and often without views). It's very neat and clean and met all of our needs. Bathroom quite small but recently modernised - and what a pleasure to be able to have a shave without having to wipe down a fogged up mirror. Price was reasonable and for a 2 night stay it's a good spot and an excellent location on North Terrace.
