I had a great stay here - look, it's not a great hotel. Its a little tired and the rooms need to be refreshed. The bathrooms are straight out of the 70s. I half expected to find Ron Burgundy luxuriating in the tub... However, the location is great. I was there for work, and the walk to meetings was easy. It's also very close to the Adelaide Oval (5 minutes over a footbridge). I was there for one night, but was able to walk over to the ground and watch a game of cricket and then catch a game of tennis on the way back. An added bonus was that some of the tennis players were staying in the hotel. A couple of small gripes... the food was ok, but not outstanding. No hash browns in the buffet is unforgivable... All in all, I enjoyed my stay, excellent staff, good facilities, great location. I'd stay here again for sure.
We stayed at the InterCon in December, and there was a strong smell in the lobby area that lingered the entire stay, it was odd and frankly, a bit off-putting. We didn't explore the hotel too much as the smell was just too much. When we checked in, the receptionist was super friendly, and he pointed out on a map a bunch of places in the area to have a late night drink. The room itself was clean, in definite need of a refurb, but the best thing about this hotel is its location, you just can't beat it.
We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding anniversary recently at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Our room was fabulous with a marble bathroom and views toward the river. We were given a free drink and discount off our meal which was superb. Close to the city and public transport , Adelaide Oval and galleries we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
I love the feeling you get when a great experience you had at hotel many years ago is rediscovered. On my recent stay in ADL at the Intercontinental, this feeling returned. Hotel management need to be congratulated for maintaining the high standard of staff customer service in a very competitive hospitality services market. There are a few great reasons. The check-in process was seamless efficient, professional and polite. The superior king room (912) was well appointed and slightly older design doesn’t matter if everything works, is well stocked with fast free wifi. Tick tick tick. One other area I focus on is the food and beverage service, I usually order an omelette to gauge how well the kitchen functions but instead chose from the usual buffet selection. The big difference here is that it’s constantly replenished so it looks fresh and inviting. The cheese selection was especially good. The other point of difference is that espresso coffee is included breakfast package- a welcome relief to the ancillary driven other hotel chains. Thank you.
I was recently in Adelaide to see an exhibition at the Art Gallery of SA and visit the museum. I stayed in the most basic room but it had everything I needed. I was very impressed with the beautiful red Italian marble bathroom which was stunning. They don't make them like that anymore! Room was spacious and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful - couldn't have asked for more. Be aware it is a five star hotel (I think) so food and drinks can be pricey. Great location. Recommended!
We booked a last minute room for a holiday to south australia. The hotel was in the best location...5 minute walk from restaurants, bars and shopping. The hotel grounds were beautiful with a nice swimming pool and some good restaurants. The staff were excellent! The room size and bathroom were large and very clean. Only drawback is that the carpet was a little old giving the rooms an older look. For the price it was great.
First thing we would have to say was that the standard of service from all staff without exception- from the car valet staff to front desk and bars/restaurant were exceptional. All were very pleasant and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We have stayed several times now, and although the rooms are starting to age, they are still classy and well maintained.
I have written a review previously on how good staying here is but I wish to review this time the Riverside Restaurant and its staff. On Monday 1 Jan my family and I dined here. On arrival we were informed that some dishes were not available due to the Public Holiday but we were still had some great choices and what we did have was awesome. One diner however seemed to have an issue with this after ordering (and eating an entrée) but I must say that all the staff handled this well. All the other patrons had no issue so please advise your staff that one persons opinion that night was not any body else's. Again, the food we has was delicious and the staff were friendly and courteous.
As usual enjoyed our stay very much . Club lounge staff very nice . Rooms always spotless .booked becouse of location .love the nightly turndown service tidy up the chocs on the bed.will ask for a room on the opposite side to the casino as there outside bar music could be heard from our room even on the 22nd floor.
