Because the Rockford is just outside the CBD, it is reasonably quiet. Everything is within walking distance. It is easy to access & close to everything. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. Staff were helpful & qietly did their jobs.
Right near everything in Adelaide, just a short walk to Rundle Mall but right next to Hindley Street were majority of the bigger night clubs are. The rooms were lovely & well kept. Very modern and enjoyable. Will stay again!
Neat, clean and a good breakfast. Walking distance to the centre and the International Conference Centre. Found that the hotel did not have a health club which is a disadvantage. Still it's location and friendly staff made up for it
Disgusting service to be shouted at , lied to , laughed at and to have the blame put on us for no apparent reason . He is a liar , unhelpful rude and needs customer service training . All we had asked if there was any other rooms available . He said no . My girlfriend was looking on booking . Com and seen here was a room available . So we called back , he then tried saying there is no rooms again even after me stating booking . Com has a room available He starts shouting , over taking me , and laughing .. . I don't like being abused on the phone when all I asked was a simple question . I will be reporting this to the manager . Very disappointing , really poor customer service and attitude . Hotel is quite nice shame on the staff .
Comfortable rooms although getting due for refurbishment. The bathroom was magnificent and had been redone recently. Very helpful staff. Location 10 minute walk to Convention Centre and 15 minutes to Rundle Mall. Hotel surrounding area a bit run down but had no worries walking about.
My father and I stayed at this Hotel recently, my father occupying a wheelchair friendly room and myself a Queen Room. First impressions of my father's room were disappointing, dull, not terrible cozy, not terribly inviting and lacking in warmth. Looking outside the floor to ceiling window, the tiny inaccessible balcony had not been cleaned for an awfully long time and the airconditioning condenser outside was incredibly filthy. Without the disabled facilities, if this is what a standard single room is like, I would be disappointed. My room was in stark contrast to this and could not have been more warm, inviting, modern, I was really impressed by the bathroom which had a heating switch, probably just as well, being Adelaide. The Hotel Welcome book was lacking in information and told you very little about the Hotel facilities, if any at all. The hotel elevator was being replaced, so the one we used really seemed temporary, it was small, old and only only just fit the two of us with the wheelchair and got stuck on the 4th floor at one stage. Exiting on the 2nd floor, you are confronted with a small laundry with washers and dryers on a small enclosed balcony, that seemed a somewhat strange location. To enter and exit the Hotel, dad and I had to use a side door to access a ramp. Leaving seemed ok most of the time, but coming back, staff would hardly ever answer the buzzer saying they couldn't hear it? That's of course when reception was manned which most of the time was hardly ever. I know this because I was always there asking them to reassign the room swipe cards to our rooms, because they would stop working all the time, that was really annoying. I was told the magnetic strip was sensitive, funny, I never had any problems with the previous Hotel I stayed in on this trip and the cards were always in their envelopes. The free Wifi was another issue. I was issued different logins and passwords for every day we stayed. The continual logging onto the Wifi was annoying. Just didn't get it. One password should be sufficient. We ate at The Spice Restaurant attached to the Hotel one night, and I must say, the food was fantastic, but you pay for that too. Housekeeping was good, always came back to a clean roon, bed made, my only criticism would be maybe another bar of soap would be handy, but now I'm being picky. All in all, not a bad stay, The Rockford just needs to review some of it's practices and update some of the rooms.
The Adelaide Rockford is a hotel under renovation, our room was beautiful and very comfortable and we had a great time exploring Adelaide and its surrounds but on one of our adventures we required a car to go down to Victor Harbour we booked the car with Europcar before we left on advice from Accor when we went to pick it up we were told our identification was not sufficient and the deposit would be increased by $300 all because we had a Visa debit card and not a Credit card. We were told this was the policy with all the car rental companies in Adelaide but Hertz came to the party for us and our day trip was saved. So maybe give Europcar a miss if you only have Debit cards.
Business style hotel with not small room space. Queen size, a bit too soft bed, 2 single sofa, mini bar, shower...standard facilities are available. But, unfortunately, outdoor swimming pool & sauna are still too cold to use even at the moment, going to spring. Dieting, shopping, cinema, casino, museum, park....are around. Transport to airport is easy by bus, J3 route.
We stayed 5 nights here for a conference and weekend . Well located for the conference centre. Extremely well priced , decor a bit tired but great shower and everything a 4 star place would have . You could pay a lot more but why would you , staff helpful, great little hotel. Thanks
The room was very good and the king bed was nice and comfortable. Unfortunately there was some renovations being carried out and only 1 lift was available. This was a group stay for 4 nights with pre ordered dinners which were all average. There appeared to be a lack of staff at dinner time however the few in attendance were obliging.
