I stayed at the Rockford for 8 days as part of a group and found the staff to be So helpful. They were always friendly, like remembering my daughter's name and where we were going that day and asking if we had enjoyed it. The breakfast there is really good...we ate there every morning and really enjoyed it. The only bad side is it was noisy on Sat night due to the music place opposite.
We arrived at hotel for a 5 day stay to catch-up with family. The reception could not be more helpful or friendlier as are all staff. Great meals in dining room. Best feature most incredible beds so comfy.
First up the hotel is undergoing renovations. This place is more suited to businessmen and bus tour groups. If you want a romantic destination find somewhere else in Adelaide, especially midweek with the renovations! Deluxe and king deluxe rooms are sparsely furnished. No place for two people to sit. Single pillows on the bed. Not even biscuits with tea facilities in rooms. Theyre not rooms you want to come back to. Breakfast finishes at 9:30 weekends and 9 weekdays so don't sleep in! Towards the end of the sitting just soggy leftovers in the Bain Maries, except the bacon which had gone hard. And book your paid parking spot ahead or you'll end up driving to the nearest Wilson carpark. I expected better. We won't be returning!
when we arrived they had upgraded our rooms due to my brothers big birthday. we stayed in rooms 116+117 116 looks over the Jam factory you cannot open the doors to outside so it didn't really matter, room 117 over looked the main street. if you decide you don't need a cleaner then you get a $10 meal voucher which i think is a great idea. the room was spacious and clean. THE shower was amazing best of any shower i have ever had. their was a fridge in the room so you could buy a can or two and put them in the fridge. free flavoured water in the lobby but really cucumber flavoured! one night about 2am the room next door became so noisey i had to ring reception and heard someone knock on their door minutes later but 30 minutes after that the noise was still so bad i got dressed and went down, the young lad on reception went straight back up to them and i overheard him tell them in no uncertain words the noise had to stop no and it did. Breakfast was really nice with the choice of everything you would expect cereals, fruit, yogurt, cook foods patisseries. you could also get eggs cooked how you liked them.
Our travel agent booked us into this hotel last August 2017, as the final leg of a return trip from a longer holiday to the Northern Territory. Our first impressions were good as the attendant at the reception desk was friendly and courteous and he advised us that he'd allocated a "very nice room for us". We were allocated a King Superior room on the second floor, which when we first arrived we were very pleased with. Modern decor, large comfortable bed and a nice large ensuite/bathroom. However while were were unpacking we became aware of a gang of riggers erecting scaffolding out side of our balcony and window and right along the back of the hotel. The hammering and general construction noise was loud and disruptive and we were never quite sure what privacy the sheer curtains provided us from the workers. We decided to get out of the room and go for a walk down to Rundle Mall, to escape the noise and on this walk it became obvious that the hotel was located in one of the more "interesting" areas of Adelaide. The hotel was ideally located if we wanted to visit strip clubs, bars, massage parlours, tattoo parlours and the like but as we are in our late 60's we weren't interested in these "attractions". We had a late lunch in Rundle Mall and returned about 4.00pm and were relieved to find the scaffolding riggers had finished for the day. We decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant as we didn't fancy going out to look for an alternative in the "interesting" area. The meal in the in house restaurant which specialises in Asian Fusion was quite nice and the service was friendly and efficient. The next morning we were woken up, not by an alarm clock, but the drilling of holes into the external wall of the hotel by the scaffolding crew and the noise was unbelievable and totally disruptive. I filmed the episode on my mobile phone and it's a pity that I can't attach the video to this review. I then made a complaint to the attendant on reception, who on this occasion was less friendly and more businesslike when he advised us that the hotel had included a statement on their website that these works would be commencing in June 2018. It appeared that he felt that seemed to absolve the hotel from any inconvenience caused to guests or any necessity for compensation of any kind. When I advised him that when our booking was made 9 months earlier there was no note on the web site, it fell on deaf ears. When pressed further he did offer to transfer us to another room but as we were only staying one more night, we decided the better alternative was to go out for the day and return when the work was finished for the day. We were offered a late check out which we accepted. The general maintenance man was very helpful and is an asset to the hotel. We won't be returning.
Close to convention centre great for conference stay. We had a lovely large spa room, with a desk for catching up on that last minute preparation! Close to lovely cafes would recommend Peter Rabbit just down the road for amazing coffee
I stayed here to attend a conference at the convention center - this hotel was perfect for that. Great location, near food, supermarkets and an easy walk to Rundal mall. The room was very spacious. Clean and comfortable. Food was good. Staff incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful. The only room for improvement I can suggest is that there was quite a bit of noise. I could hear the room next door flushing their toilet. I am a member of Accor club and this is an extremely good and valuable frequent stay club. I am always happy with Accor hotels. I would absolutely recommend Adelaide Rockford.
Convenient location, easy walk to downtown Adelaide. Nice rooms if you get the king suites, a little dated if you don’t get one. Decent on site restaurant for breakfast or dinner. Economical hotel for business or pleasure.
Stayed at the Rockford between the 18th and 21st of May. Had a room with a Kithcen, Longe Room and Bedroom with ensuite. Also had breakfast included. Great room and staff. Also has a pool and Sauna. Too cold to use the pool. Had a great stay.
Room- large room. Mini bar - small selection Room service- unfortunately no room service on Sunday so I ordered Uber eats WiFi - was excellent Water / shower - unfortunately hot shower tap was cold water. Cold shower tap was hot water . Cleaners - the cleaners forgot to lock my door afterwards . Breakfast- minimal however it has all the main breakfast items bread . Breakfast eggs . Cereal, yogurt
