This is a lovely B&B in the countryside, with plenty of parking, nice big rooms, and good breakfasts. It's a short drive from the small town of Adare, and not too far from Limerick. Jennie made sure we knew where we could go to eat (and find an ATM!). We had a lovely time. One caution: it's a couple of kilometres off the road from Limerick, and unless you're an excellent navigator or have a really reliable GPS, you want to arrive in daylight so you can see the Hillcrest sign. ("Reliable" means Google Maps can find it, but not the GPS in our rental car.) But it's worth getting there.
Stayed at the Hillcrest and had a great, enjoyable visit. Jennie and Michael Power were superb hosts. Rooms were great...... quiet and comfortable. Breakfast outstanding. Jennie went out of her way to tell us the best places to enjoy Adare... she made us feel like family! Do get detailed directions.
We stayed at the B&B for 4 nights. Everything was great; the room, the breakfast and location. Jennie and Mike are very welcoming and polite on welcoming you into there home and making sure everything goes well with your stay. The Irish breakfast is a great way to start the day. Location is perfect, away from busy roads but near to all of the towns which are situated near by. Gorgeous Irish countryside greets you every morning. Jennie and Mike are full of knowledge which is great as it was our first visit for years back to Ireland. We will be definitely be returning again.
This is a cute and small place, out of nowhere. You can't go there without a car. But it's a quiet place, with a beautiful view and the BEST service! The couple that run the place are the best of the best! They will do almost everything to make you happy and satisfied. The breakfasts were awesome - the cook is fresh & clean and of course tasty! Thanks for a wonderful time!!!
It's a lovely comfortable place, so quiet out in the country. (Be sure to get directions). The hosts are wonderful and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was full Irish or other stuff (lots of fresh fruit). Our room was spacious enough and the bed was comfy. Bathroom was suitable and private. The house was immaculate and parking was easy.
We had an amazing stay with our lovely hosts. They were extremely attentive and nothing was too much! Jennie made an amazing Irish breakfast that filled us up right to dinner time. We will definitely be back as Adare is such a lovely wee village and a great stop off if travelling around Ireland. Thank you so much xx
You could not ask for more.. We had a wedding in Rathkeale the day after so decided to stay here. Our hosts Jennie and Michael were so welcoming, warming and attentive for our entire stay, offered us food on arrival which is not expected but so appreciated even if we didn't accept.. The setting of the BnB is beautiful, surrounded by lush green fields with a lovely country feel.. Breakfast was fantastic, I was stuffed. The bedroom was perfect, a great night's sleep, a lovely shower and wifi was fine! All in all, couldn't ask for more they are value for money! Regards, Adrian.
It breaks my heart to write this review because our hosts were delightful people, but I would have loved to know the weak points of this place before booking it. The room size was fine, the location was no problem for us and we were warmly greeted at our arrival and throughout our stay. The main problem was the bathroom, very small with a shower that was really horrible. There was almost no water pressure and if one needs to wash their hair, it might take forever to do it. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything. Wifi was poor, too. Breakfast was good with delicious pancakes and fresh fruit. I would say it's not worth the price, I think this is a budget bed and breakfast, although we paid the same price for much better places along our trip. I hope this doesn't discourage our hosts, though, because they are very good and warm people. The place needs some work and also a review of the price.
We got to this B&B rather late but got welcomed by a hot cup of tea and a cosy living-room. Our landlords Jenny and Micheal we very helpful with information about the area. The room was spacious and cosy, it had a very comfortable bed and a nice view onto the farmland. It was very quiet so we had a good night's rest. Breakfast was delicious with a large variety of fresh fruit along many other tasty things. It was a lovely stay
We went for one night and stayed three! A highlight of our holiday in beautiful Ireland, from the incredibly warm welcome to the fabulous breakfasts in a charming, comfortable home in such a peaceful setting. We were made to feel like part of the family by Jennie and Michael, and we so hope we can visit them again one day. For those wanting to experience real Irish hospitality you can't get better. Adare is a fabulous town and the surrounding area has much to see. M & B NZ
