Wrong room, it's under renovations some of it is a building site . Should just shut down and do it up . Breakfast could have been better as well
My wife and I spent two and a half weeks seeing the western coast of Ireland. We chose to end our trip (this past week) near Shannon for convenience but could not get in to Adare Manor (found out it was closed for 2 years for a new owner to "restore" it.....that is another story) so we reserved 4 nights at Dunraven Arms. We were surprised at the relatively low cost, but when compared to other hotels at the same price point it was still disappointing. For a Small Luxury Hotel establishment it is even more disappointing. We both thought that the staff was in need of some real training from someone who knew about good service (attempting to clear one diner's plate while the other was still eating). We walked into the "pub" for a drink and dinner to find 9 other people already there and waited 15 minutes before one of the 4 young men working the bar took a drink order. The general condition of the hotel is "tired" and that is being kind. The best thing about the location is that it is only 30 minutes from Shannon Airport
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The only problem is that you have to go through a maze of hallways to get from the lobby to your room. They need to unlock the doors close to the parking lot.
What a charming hotel. This hotel is a great alternative to the Adare Manor, which is located across the street. The hotel was very cozy with antique furniture. If you expect a ultra modern hotel, this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for a charming, small hotel, choose this hotel. Our standard luxury room was huge. We got a queen and twin beds. The mattress was wonderfully comfortable. The down comforter was thick and soft. The bathroom was huge with two separate sinks. There was a nice comfortable sofa. We were surprised to learn that our accommodation included daily full Irish breakfast buffet, which was fantastic. The staff was so friendly. The garden was nice to enjoy after a day explore Ireland attraction. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.
Wonderful experience ... Gracious staff, extremely comfortable bed/room, and fantastic location!
This place was not fun. The bar down the road made it easier to stay in the hotel. Plumbing wasn't great. Bed was as hard as a rock. Looked like a two star hotel. The town was great and I really loved the atmosphere of the town. This hotel was diffinately over rated. The staff whom helped with breakfast was great and the only good thing about the hotel for the money.
We spent a week all in one spot with day trips to all our adventures. Loved the hotel, amazing bed, great light in the rooms, staff very helpful, great breakfasts. Highly recommend it.
rOOM WAS EXCELLENT AND SO WAS SERVICE. lIMITED MENU AT BAR AND RESTUARANT IN MY OPINION OTHERS M,AY BE VERY HAPPY. i AM NOT A GOURMET. mANY PLACES TO EAT WITHIN EASY WALKING DISTANCE. wE TRAVELED TO THE cLIFFS OF mORR AND THROUGH THE Burran one day and the next we wnt further north and east
