We only had one night here as attending a friends wedding at same venue. Had a pleasant welcome with all facilities clearly explained and given directions to my room. Very impressed with the congenial feel of this hotel and found my accommodation to be spacious and comfortable with that old school georgian feel. The wedding was a great success with all needs catered for , attentive staff ,down side was the price of the drinks. Had an enjoyable breakfast before departure.(recommend the eggs royal) I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel in Aberdeen

Needed to be in Aberdeen early Thursday so booked into this hotel on Wednesday evening. Had a very pleasant welcome with all facilities clearly explained and given directions to my room. Very impressed with the ambience of this hotel and found my accommodation to be spacious and comfortable. The Georgian Bar was ideal for my Bar eveing meal again served with very pleasant staff. Had an enjoyable breakfast before departure. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel when in Aberdeen for business or leisure.

I attended a memorial service here and several things let this Hotel down. During the service staff were constantly looking out from the kitchen onto the people seated which was most unsettling. After the service the seating needed cleared to set up for the food but no clear instructions were given. The celebrant did direct us to go to a certain area but no staff explained where that was. Eventually they got us into a small foyer and then we were asked to squash up while 20 + tables were wheeled in. This took far too long. There were some very ill people at this service who then had to leave as it was standing room only and very squashed. It really needed a more directive person in charge to help the transition in a better time with concern for those struggling in the squash. Despite this the food and service from staff otherwise was excellent.

Stunning A listed interior makes the main rooms a real delight. We were in Room 52 and can describe it as tired. Thankfully the great staff ( they were utterly brillant) and glorious main rooms made up for this drawback.

Very disappointed and disenchanted by our experience at Norwood Hall. We attended a wedding there and stayed for two nights. The food was excellent but our accommodation in the annexe, overlooking the kitchen, was uninspiring, to say the least! Our major concern was the disappearance of a dressing-gown from our room. We inadvertently left it behind and notified the hotel on the evening of our departure; they informed us that no other guests had occupied our room since we left and that the only people with access to the room were hotel staff. However, the dressing-gown has gone without trace and, despite phone calls to the Head of Housekeeping and a letter and phone call to Mr Ivan Franssen, General Manager, the matter has never been resolved and we are left questioning the trustworthiness of the hotel staff. We shall certainly not be returning to the Norwood Hall !

I am sure a lot of people will love this hotel. A converted stately home in beautiful grounds with large rooms and comfy beds. Ut there are a few drawbacks that may not be to everybody's taste. The layout is a little strange and you may need to use a combination of two lifts to get to your floor, I got lost the first morning trying to get down to breakfast. The breakfast and dining room is very old fashioned and dull in color, some might like this. Breakfast itself was Good. The biggest drawback was location, it is about 5km from the centre of Aberdeen and there is nothing close by. Unless you have a car (I didn't) you are going to be using cabs which makes exploring and options for eating difficult. For me there are better options to stay in town that offer a modern hotel and the same level of service with a lot more convenience. I did enjoy the bar, service was good (same barman for most of my stay), afternoon snacks and flexible with menu choice.

Travelled up to The norwood hall hotel for our nieces wedding. The suite we had was beautiful, lovely bathroom, huge comfy bed, warm and spotlessly clean. The staff are really nice, service excellent. Both the breakfast and the wedding meal were absolutely delicious and plentiful. The grounds are beautiful too, lots of wildlife around. It was so worth travelling a 1000 miles for our gorgeous niece. Fan hotel. Worth a look if you're getting married here in Aberdeen.

The university (Robert Gordon) had booked me into this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised when I drove up the stately drive to this castle type hotel. I was upgraded to a luxurious room which was truly luxurious. Lovely bathroom and hugely comfortable bed. Extremely quiet so I could do some work in the room. Had Sunday lunch with excellent food and wonderful attentive service. Reception staff couldn't do enough for you. I will definitely stay here again.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights for Burns night. What a fantastic experience. The hotel is stunning and the grounds are beautiful. A very old cosy hotel. Our room was amazing. We even had crystal glasses in the bathroom. The staff are fantastic and couldn't do enough for you. The Burns night ball was amazing. There was a very wet piper greeting you at the door in torrential rain which later turned to snow. A glass of buck fizz in The reception area. The meal was superb. There was ceilidh dancing and the very large haggis was ceremonially brought in with the sound of the pipers bagpipes. A great stay.

We have just arrived and we are so disappointed. The hotel grounds appear lovely, the hotel appears ok...then I found out the room rate was 50+ quid tonight and then 200 quid on Tuesday/Wednesday and having recently stayed in a hotel in London for less, I was peeved and questioned their decision and then they all appeared to suffer from politically correct deafness....followed by total ignorance of take it or leave it because if we don't rob you, we'll get it from someone else. We decided to stay and give them no money for anything else. I checked around but all hotels were fairly full for oil week...and monopolising the room prices...have to accept it. Got the room key, but we were told to wait 5 minutes for it to activate....then we were left waiting to ask, is it activated?? We got into the room and to be honest, its a cupboard and we have no room for the case!!!! One towel for two guests appears the norm as when questioned the receptionist asked if I wanted extra???? I asked if it was bacon and sausage for breakfast as 2 weeks in the UK travelling and I have had enough of that heart attack material ....the receptionists said 'no its a full Scottish breakfast'...so decision was made to skip it... We have 4 nights here and will eat out and keep out of the cupboard, in case we bump into Harry Potter. Good news...Chinese food at Zen some 10 minutes drive away was lovely...with friendly staff...possibly Norwood Hall staff need to try it and learn.
