I was excited to stay in this 4 star hotel. Previously I had not read any other reviews and wish I had. Upon arrival check in was fast and effective. The girl that checked us in was very nice and we were given room 419 which is classed I was told as one of the better rooms. The corridors are very very dated, dark and grubby. It looked very clean and smelled fresh though. The room itself. Dated. Tired looking old furniture from the 80's. The bed was a small double I'd say. Comfy mattress. The first thing I noticed about the room was the heat. I like hot but this was too much. I opened the window but had no relief. After 8 hours travel we decided to go for a shower as we were meeting friends. The shower did not work, nor any taps. When I called reception the girl explained the water would be off for an hour as they were doing renovations. We had no idea or would not have booked. They gave us free drinks which was good. But I had to go out feeling awful and dirty. Due to the heat I didn't sleep well, even with the fan I found. Overall for 80 for two nights is value. But currently this is not a four star hotel. I would stay again but I would not expect a four star, more three star. Hopefully the renovations go well but I would invest in air con

Moved the bed to retrieve my phone that slipped under the bed to find bare electrical cables hanging out the wall !! So when booking on expedia there was no menchan of the refurb taking place the first we knew of it was on arrivel. Tho granted the website stated this apparently just wish I'd known! It Cleary got it's stars in the 90s. It was nice and quiet tho with a comfy bed. However you would expect atleast a mattress protector on the bed not just a thin sheet !! Hygiene issue there! ripped shower curtain and wobbly fittings definetly not deserving of the 4 star AA plack on the door! Wount be back didn't even bother to complain on the way out.

The hotel is currently under reservation so improvements are ongoing. We were unhappy to start of our trip because we had to park our car across the road at a local pay and display car park. Breakfast was poor although the dining room is under refurbishment, choice was poor, also no bar for the residents, they served your drink in the small dining area. Only one bottle of water for two people in the room, plenty of toothpaste, etc, in bathroom if you forget anything. Bed was comfy, and clean, good nights sleep was had by both of us, (very quiet). Won't be going back, even when the improvements are complete, only a 2 star at the moment, not a 4 star.

The hotel is currently under reservation so improvements may be soon to come. We were disappointed on a few fronts. Most problematic was lack of ventilation in the room and the tiny window only opened a centimeter as it was locked. Breakfast was poor although the dining room is under refurbishment and the small space allocated didn't leave much space. Beds were comfortable, clean and it is centrally located. No safe though in bedroom which was disappointing for 4 star. Overall currently a good 2 star status.

Stayed overnight this week on a work trip, very comfortable and friendly place. The hotel is a bit dated but undergoing renovation, so ground floor restaurant and bar are out of action just now. Great alternative arrangements have been made on club floor though. Had breakfast there and enjoyed the buffet, there's a large range of cooked and cold options, including range of herbal teas. Too many hotels cater only for caffeine lovers, and I really appreciated the choices available. I would stay here again. All staff really friendly, but special mention to Will, who lent me his phone charger when mine broke and then insisted I keep it so I could keep phone charged for rest of trip. Thanks again Will!

Spent 3 nights here, great location and easy to find. Parking on site very limited so had to go in the multi story across the road, fortunately it has pay by phone so I could top up the parking when out. The room was alright, slept well until about 7am when a speaker in a corridor directly below our room started buzzing. The shower wasn't great, no good for anyone over 5 feet tall.

Stayed at this hotel on July 11th 2017, nice friendly hotel , but a tired looking place to stay. However they are working on modifications as I speak . Parking is the real problem with this hotel although there is a multi storey across the road which charges a £1 an hour to park, this ends and becomes free at 8pm then you have to get to your car in the morning to revalue your parking ticket before the wardens walk round ..... hotel gets no discount for customers using this car park so be aware! If you arrive at 3pm it could get very costly over in the car park, especially if you don't check out until lunch time the following day ? Nice and friendly staff and in the city centre so not a bad location 👍

We stayed here on 29th June, 2017. Hotel is located near a car park so convenient as when we were staying there was refurbishment going on and we could not use the hotel car park. The hotel must be an old establishment as the room and furniture did show signs of wear and tear but no complaints as our room was comfortable, spacious for two people, had toiletries, hair drier, ironing board, tea/ coffee making facilities and for some reason even an extra fan in the cupboard. Sadly, we missed the breakfast the next day as it's timings are 6:00-10:00 on weekdays and we had had a late night so can't comment on it. Next time we are in Aberdeen, we might stay here again.

Stayed here with work, located near town centre so convenient for union street shopping. Hotel is a bit tired but they are just starting a refit (so some disruption during stay with noise etc) but this was well managed and guests informed. Room big and furniture dated but the things that matter were there... hot water, powerful shower, free wifi. Reasonable price probably due to refit disruption. So I was quite happy. Tried to park in car park but I wouldn't advise it, it's very limited and tight for space and manoeuvres (and I can park in most places but really didn't like this set up). Large pay and display across road - Park there.

Stayed here January 2016 after getting stranded in Aberdeen due to flooding on the train lines. Was not disappointed in the slightest as the hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The downsides were that the room we stayed in was rather outdated and the policy of the hotel is to hold a £50 deposit from your account in case there are any damages made. This was only told to myself when I queried why there was that total missing from my available balance. I felt this was sneaky as they never informed me before hand and if an indivisible was short of that £50 then it could have easily resulted in an overdraft being opened with the bank. Regardless of this I would stay again
