Let me first say this is by no means a bad hotel, so in spite of the negative critique I'm about to give, I do recommend this hotel for stays in Horsens city center. Unfortunately they seem to stop just short of the finish line in almost all aspects. The rooms are quite modern, but then bathroom elements are old and out of order (see pic, apologies for the quality - it shows most of the water coming out of the hose assembly instead of out of the shower head). The TV is very new and of decent quality, but they only have something like 10 channels of which only one is English and even the Danish selection is extremely poor. The breakfast is generally above average in almost all aspects - with the exception of containers, which are plastic and so weightless, that they tremble to the floor at the slightest touch, if they are less than half full. Parking is only a 100 meter walk behind the hotel, but nobody told me that street parking just outside the hotel was free in the period I stayed there (Sat-Sun). Asking to check in 30 min. before normal check-in I was told I had to pay a € 13 fee (it is a per hour fee). Obviously it is their provocative to add this kind of charge, I'm just not used to it from 4 star hotels, not in Denmark nor other places in Europe or US. Out of principle I decided to find another way to check in later without paying the fee and they just ended up with a slightly less satisfied customer without making an additional profit. What it all comes down to, it is not a bad hotel at all, but they just cut all the wrong corners when it comes to guest satisfaction (but perhaps exactly the right corners to call themselves a 4 star hotel). I will not claim, that I'll never come back, but I will give other hotels a go before making this my regular Horsens goto hotel. One last thing. Normally I would have rated this a high 3 on the TA 5 point scale, but a very friendly staff in general and in particular a very pleasant night porter earned this hotel a 4 from me.
When I checked in, it's still early (around 11am) the check in time is 2pm . The front desk told me to put my luggage at the dress room area . It was good . Upon check out at the morning, I put my luggage there and went for breakfast at the restaurant area . When I return to get my luggage, it was stolen . The hotel personnel just say sorry for my lost . And help me report the police . But they say they are not responsible for any lost and that's it. Bye bye . So when u stay there and you need to put your luggage. It's at your own risk . So be careful. They do have thieves looming around
We visited Jørgensens Hotel primarily because we had heard so much good about their restaurant. We stayed there for just one night, but what a wonderful night. We had their new Gourmet menu with four courses and wine menu. The Food was exquisite, the wines well-chosen and, the atmosphere very nice and "hyggelig". The chef even took out the time to personally introduce each course which was really nice. The hotel room was great as well - lots of atmosphere and a touch of the history and nostalgia that shines through the hotel. All in all highly recommendable and definitely worth a visit, not least for its top class restaurant.
Situated in middle of City Center and Market in horsens, this property is very good to stay. Staff is very good and supportive, they even helped us in directions for different places and gave us map too. Really good hotel in price they offer, loved it.
I think the hotel lives upto the price and 3 star rating. The rooms are cleaned everyday and well kept. It is 10 mins walk from the train station and is on the high street so surrounded by restaurants and pubs. It is built in a converted building so has the old world feeling and serves free breakfast in morning. Don't expect too much in the breakfast but I guess it is appropriate in denmark. It is packed with business travellers during mon-thur Will stay again if i come to horsens
I visited the place for 3 days . The hotel was very decent, the staff very friendly and willing to help and the restaurant was very very nice! Room was large, a bit old fashioned decorated but very comfortable and cosy! It is good stay for a couple of days not for long as the town is very silent. The only problem is that the town shops bars and restaurants close relatively early and so there are not many things to do after 22.00 o clock .
The facade is more impressive than the rooms, which are spartan and poorly lit. The breakfast buffet is very Danish and quite delicious. Make sure you allocate some time to enjoy it. Ask for a room off the main pedestrian street if you need quiet. No elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs.
Lovely building oozing history. Located on a mostly pedestrian mall, which makes finding it with a sat nav a bit tricky. Suggest you check when booking about parking if you are driving. The hotel does have dedicated spots off site. Plenty of eating choices in the area although note that quite a few are closed on Mondays! Staff are lovely. Ear plugs were provided in our room, which overlooked a side alley where there was plenty of noise later on in the night.
This is a hotel on the most central Place in this city. Old building and furniture in rooms has even that has history. We had a big room as a couple, nice. Excellent breakfast. In cellar good beer place. Many shops just outside the door.
the hotel is nicely located, friendly staff with a smile on their face. nice interiors in the common areas, standard breakfast spread but prepared carefully for the best breakfast experience. The room is spacious for a single room, standard shower and minibar in the room. The access to wifi internet is free but i would suggest increasing the strength of the signal. A very nice place to stay and would highly recommend the place.
