Lovely hotel with excellent location.
Hotel was amazing. The staff was super friendly. Easy access to all most DC high points. Easy to get there by train and to move around on the bus.

An underwhelming experience
I have stayed at the Salamander DC in 2022. Booked a premier room with water view. Which only had view of the Potomac River from only one window. Room was clean except for food in the minifridge. However, room service was exceptional including the meals. This trip in 2023 was terrible. I wasn’t aware of how inconvenienced I would be due to the renovations. I was encouraged to find the hotel upgraded our accommodations in response to our previous complaints. However, we found the room to be unsatisfactory. The sofa was heavily stained and should be removed. The bed mattress had poor support with worn edges. The meals this time were very underwhelming. I sent my egg and sausage breakfast back to the kitchen because it arrived cold. Which the manager did comp, but I however went without breakfast. The burger we ordered for dinner from room service was great, but the thin pizza was the worst. Again, cold and overdone. I am sorry to say this visit did not live up to the hotel’s reputation. A return visit may not be in the future.
