Terrible experience; Why is this hotel rated well?
This hotel was horrific. I am confused and unsure how their ratings are so high because typically hotels that i book scored as fairly well end up being fine. Cons: 1. We immediately noticed the hotels age.The walls of the room were all cracked. The room and design are in much need of an update unfortunately and remodel. 2. The room was dirty and had a foul odor. The bathroom smelt of a mixture of body odor and mold. My husband lost some yen in the couch and found leftover chopsticks, utensils, a lot of previous guests hair, crumbs. Disgusting. 3. Our room was unbearably HOT. After three hours, our room remained at 25.5 Celsius. Staff requests that I “try cracking a window” and that all guests have their windows cracked to manage? We decided to repack our belongings and leave that night inconveniently at 11:00pm and headed to Swissotel which I highly recommend if affordable to you. At this point, I did not care about price, due to the discomfort experienced at Namba. Pros: 1. The saving grace for this hotel is its location. Highly sought and active area.

Great location in the heart of Namba. So much to do in the area. Easily accessible via the Osaka subway network. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff. This is my go to hotel whenever I visit Osaka.
