This hotel is a clean basic hotel with great front desk staff. Now let me tell you why I won't ever be staying here again: I stay here often as I am tri-state and visit the city often staying over night. On one of my first stays here the maid knocked continually on my door an hour before checkout. I hate that, what is the point of the "do not disturb" sign? It annoyed me so much that I mentioned it to the front desk thinking maybe the maid didn't understand what those "do not disturb" signs mean. They appoligized and said they would make sure she understood. This morning 40 minutes before checkout this same maid is knocking at my door that has the "do not disturb" sign on it. This time she didn't wake me up, and because she wouldn't quit knocking, I answered the door and spoke with her. She clearly knew what she was doing AND that she shouldn't be doing it. I usually tip housekeeping $20 a day, but not this time as she clearly didn't want a tip. The thing is, I already know she had been spoken to about this (at least that what they told me), so now it's going to always be something I will think will happen, and because of that I won't be back. Tons of folks out there that need jobs, hire one of those people and make sure they understand their job description. Might seem petty of me, but why should I settle when I can stay at another hotel where the maids understand what they should and shouldn't do.It's a great hotel with a poor back of house staff.
