Saying this hotel is 2 star is generous. It is the Spirit Airlines of hotels. Let me explain: We tried to take a shower - no hot water. So the hotel staff stopped by, it turns out the handle on the left labeled "H" is cold and visa versa. That is dangerous. The vent fan in the bathroom doesn't work - the employee told me none of them work in the entire hotel. The fire sprinkler is rusted in the bathroom. Does it work? The electrical panel is in the steamy bathrooms as well. How did this pass inspection? I got the room with a kitchen. Actually it has a cheap microwave and mini-fridge. No utensils, plates, cleaning supplies, etc. In fact the cupboards are empty and there is no light so it is hard to figure out how to use the microwave. The TV only connects to your computer - if you have the right software. There is no antenna, so if you want to watch the hundreds of free channels in the LA area you are out of luck. They started charging $10 per night for parking. Fortunately there is plenty of free parking in the street right next to the hotel, so don't pay for it. Find another hotel. Seriously.
Historic as it was built in 1970's as Holiday Inn. It is sort of retro but not in an artistic way. Room was large, sparse furnishing. Small TV and no cable. They had chromcast so you need your smart phone or tablet to watch TV. This is something I have never seen before in a hotel room. Low ceilings. Just right to sleep in but not much to do in the hotel itself.
This is the kind of place that would say I would return. My past experiences with reasonably priced hotels in LA have been disappointing, but Glendale Express was different. The property itself is clearly from around the 60's but it has been recently renewed. The hotel has the feeling of a non-chain hotel. The staff is very helpful and caring. Public areas very clean and room also. The location was convenient to me (Going to Universal Studios 15 min drive in the morning). I hope they keep up the good work.

The property's location was good, and the parking was very good too. The rooms, especially the bathrooms were really outdated. Everything that was repaired looked like it was done as a bad DYI. I was there for a week, and at time of checkout, i asked for a late checkout, and they wanted to charge me $25 for an extra 2 hours. I thought it was not polite to do to a client who was there for a week.

Very outdated hotel, dirty carpets, the connecting the door from our room wouldn't lock. Very unsafe. We just left and didn't stay. We lost money.
