This trip was booked as family vacation for my husband, 2 toddlers and grandparents. Room mix up: The option was to book 2 rooms. Online we were only able to book 2 of the same rooms, meaning 2 queens or 1 king. We did specify that we would like connecting rooms. At check in, it took well over an hour to get to one room, as only one was ready. It was about an hour after that, the second room was ready. These were not connecting rooms which completely defeated the purpose of having the grandparents there to help. The front desk was notified, and we were told they would look into it and email us if a change could be made. During our whole stay, no such email or change was made. We made the best of it, but it certainly was not convenient. Room cleanliness: The room did appear newly renovated, however how nice something is doesn’t matter if the floors aren’t mopped/swept and the bathroom smells like rotten cheese. Multiple hazards: Upon walking down to the pool, each one of my family members told each other to be careful on the pool deck. It was slippery with or without shoes and with or without water splashed on it. Our 3rd day there, my father fell on the stairs and gashed his leg open requiring a medical trip with X-rays, sutures, IV antibiotics and pain medicine. Whilst the care and speed of the hotel to get my dad medical care was superb. This all should be avoided by roping off areas that are unsafe and possible etching the floors so they are not so dangerous. Paper

This was possibly one of my worst experiences at a hotel in a long time and I am an avid traveler. I chose the hotel because of the high ratings, the element of being new which I associate with cleanliness. Since I booked through Expedia, I was not aware that the spa was not open until I made several attempts to contact the property through Expedia and they were non-responsive so I went to their website. The website stated the disclaimer and immediate disappointment since my main reasons for staying there was because it was new and had a spa onsite. I had to place an international call in the middle of the night to reach the night auditor, who despite his attempts to be helpful, really wasn't able to assist with any of my requests. Upon my arrival, I knew it was going to be a tumultuous stay and was turned off by the nonchalant attitude of the reception team. No one offered a welcome drink or even water. For a minimum of $450 a night, you could offer people water! So many things went wrong but the highlights for me was the limited room service options and the website for the room service menu states there is a $25 service charge for certain items.IT'S AN ALL-INCLUSIVE HOTEL!! The buffet which was the only restaurant I could get into was ridiculous. The food was subpar and lacked Caribbean influenced foods.It took me 15 minutes to get tea one morning. I extended my stay an extra night, not out of want but need and the staff opened my door and started coming in!No one told them

The property is in a beautiful setting but access to the beach is limited ( hotel sits up on a hill) and swimming is discouraged at the beach. Ziepher suite is spacious with good views. Service was below average but relatively friendly. Checkin took 40 minutes and although we reserved airport transfer and paid in advance, they “forgot “ to pick us up. Housekeeping arrives VERY early in the morning. At the Grill restaurant the server also “forgot” to bring drinks until after the meal. Not the vacation I expected.

Not what I expected.
To be fair, I stayed at the property 1 night so my overall experience was limited - however, know that the property seems to operate on a 7a-930p schedule. With the exception of a single bar, everything closes at 9:30. Room service is available, but when looking at the menu (via the QR link - note no menu in the room), it also says there is a $25 additional fee. Whether that is charged or not, I do not know. I didn't inquire, choosing to go to bed. The property does offer a Grab n Go where they advertise it's 24 hour access to snacks sandwiches some drinks and coffee. I woke at 530 and hoped to enjoy the morning sitting outside and enjoying the breeze. I went to grab n go and asked the nice attendant for a coffee (6:30 am) and was told coffee is offered at 7 and I should come back. A basic coffee machine where guests can do self service would be better than what is offered today. It's the little things that can establish a view. The property is beautiful. The rooms are nice. For an an all-inclusive property, I didn't sense is was very inclusive. Breakfast buffet was typical buffet breakfast. Morning staff was nice, but I never sensed the welcoming attitude I would have thought a resort property would / should offer guests. As I said, I only stayed one night, but do not have an intention of staying here again on my next visit to Barbados.

So overall I rate this resort a 2/5. Let’s start with the good. This resort was beautiful, inside and out. The ocean view room option was breathtaking. The staff was friendly and polite. What I did not like about this resort is that the food was awful. I know resort food isn’t always going to be top notch but the food at this place is gross. Another one of my concerns is that this resort had no gym or spa service available. Prior to booking my stay I called and asked the receptionist if everything was fully functional. She lied and said yes but this was not the case. Last but not least this hotel is really far away from everything( beaches, excursions, night life, etc.) if you are not renting a car be prepared to spend anywhere from $20-$100 one way for taxi service. I would not recommend this resort. Overpriced.
