When you go there, take a left and go up the lift. Don’t struggle up a mountain for half an hour like I did

I loved my time here. I stayed in a traditional Japanese style room which was a great experience. The view from my room was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful and my room was clean. There’s a shuttle bus that goes from the hotel to Hakone-Yumoto station but I didn’t use it so can’t comment but that is helpful as 3/4 of the walk to the hotel is fine and easy but the last 1/4 of the way is a pretty steep incline. I was only carrying a backpack so it wasn’t bad. The highlight though was the onsen - such an amazing experience to be in the hot springs at nighttime.

Great location but would need taxi or bus to get to for most people, I enjoyed the walk. Appreciate its Japan but very little English language help around. Requests to wear a Yukata for breakfast but hardly anyone was wearing it.
