Disappointing
The cottage is cute, but very dark inside. The bed was very comfortable. We saw a black bear near the cottage which was great. We couldn't get the gas grill to work and the charcoal grill was so rusted it was unusable. The towels seemed very old and cheap. The worst part of the experience, though, was that there was blood on our comforter and we didn't get a replacement until the next day.

My Parents and My Husband and I’s stay
The cabin is very cute, right in Gatlinburg and minutes from downtown. There were some ants in the kitchen during our stay but that wasn’t an issue, our main issue was the advertising of the cabins bathrooms. It says 1+ bathroom or 1.5 bath but there was only one bathroom downstairs connected to the master. Upstairs there was nothing but a bathtub…which does not make for a “half bath” there was no sink and no toilet upstairs. The pocket door that opens to the master bedroom in the only bathroom, lock is broken so door can be slid open at any time. Upon contacting the host to let them know above the misleading listing the lady acted as if there was a half bath in the home, and told me that bathtubs or showers in a room don’t make a half bath (which I’m aware of) so I inquired if there’s no toilet and sink upstairs only a tub why does the listing say more than one restroom? I received no response after that, so I assume she didn’t know enough about the house. And just a thought I don’t think this would be a good stay for older ones who have a hard time with stairs, you have to walk down steep stairs to get to the cabins front door

Be careful where you park and when you go, there is an acorn tree above the parking that can damage your vehicle. We drove a Jeep Cherokee and had plenty of room to turn around in front of the cabin. There was an ant problem in the kitchen as well causing us to throw some food away.

Best getaway cabin!
My kiddos and I stayed for Labor Day weekend and it the best. The location and price was perfect and the beds were very comfortable. My kids asked if could rent it again because it was their “favorite!” I also enjoyed my coffee on the back porch on our last day and was entertained by one exhausted mama bear looking after her FOUR cubs!

The cabin was wonderful! My only minor complaint is that the sheets were too small for the mattresses and popped off every time someone sat down. My main concern is around this being a "big business" vs. more small business personal attention I expect from VRBO. Pro tip: Don't leave anything behind. This is apparently a company with many rentals. We left my son's FAVORITE pillow. I messaged on VRBO about 45 minutes after we left, as soon as we realized.... unfortunately we were on a tight schedule and had gone too far to turn around. I gave a description and the EXACT location I had set it. The response included a link to a "lost item form." However, I messaged back and requested that someone check immediately or let the house keeping know to set it aside before stripping the beds. I got no useful response to this, no one looked, and I keep getting automated emails saying they're "still looking" when I know it's now gone for good and mixed in with the pillows on the bed. My son is DEVASTATED..... more personal attention to renters would be huge.

Everything was excellent. Not used to driving in the mountains so was a bit nervous driving up to the cabin but found an alternative route that wasn't as steep. And now that I've been there i know better to stop at the store for food and drinks before getting to the location for the first time. But the actual cabin was great! We're already planning on making it an annual visit if we can get the same cabin again!
