Somehow they lost our Prepaid reservation for 2 nights and management just said. Sorry. We don’t have your reservation and you’ll have to dispute the charges with your credit card.
Good thing it was off season. We were lucky enough to find a much better Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the area. And Orbitz quickly addressed my refund when contacted.
The Caledonian Property was dated in lobby and restaurant area on my arrival and had scaffolding to the roof for most of the building. Management was rude and unhelpful.

Our stay at The Caledonian
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was served buffet style and was plentiful and tasty.
There were a few issues though that I would like to point out:
1. There was no fresh coffee at breakfast. Instead we had to use Nescafe instant coffee sachets! I've never stayed in a hotel before that doesn't at least have a coffee percolator.
2. The dinner menu doesn't offer much choice and the food was mediocre quality. It was well cooked though and £20 for three courses is good value.
3. The lift didn't work at all during our stay and our room was on the top floor. It's a good job that we're both fit!
4. The shower tray in our ensuite leaked water onto the floor when used and the heated towel rail didn't seem to work. We didn't report these issues as they were just a minor inconvenience to us.
We did enjoy our stay and found the staff welcoming and attentive. Overall the hotel is OK but could be improved by serving proper coffee at breakfast rather than instant rubbish and getting the lift repaired.
Beautiful views, restaurant menu was quite limited food was okay.!good value for the price in the area.

You get what you pay for stay wise..breakfast was better than I expected for the price.
Ideal if not fussed on luxury and just a base for the night.
Breakfast waitress was very nice and helpful.
Slightly out of range to walk to town centre but fine with transport
A tired example in need of some update. Yes. It's cheap as chips so I guess you get what you pay for
It is what it is. And I didn't really expect much more. But the lift was broken. Still. Apparently. And we were put on the top floor of a near empty hotel. The bed was badly broken and who on earth does the maintenance? Mr Magoo could do better with a tube of silicone in the bathroom.
Only one double socket so you are constantly changing what's in what. Kettle, TV, chargers etc
