El Colonial was a great place to stay. Walking distance to everything in Old San Juan. It’s a very old building so the floors seemed not so clean in the room we had, but I wore slipper socks. Beds were very comfortable and bath all were clean. Free beer and wine and other alcohol free, soda and free coffee in the morning. It was quiet enough with the AC fan providing a white noise- outside noises on Cinco de Mayo were a bit loud. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is overrated. The furniture in the rooms are filthy, and with so much condensation the floors are a fall hazard. Poor quality Wi-Fi and we’re charged $5 for utensils for our room service order. We could never reach the front desk even prior to check in to set up special in room services. The staff was very lackadaisical. This anniversary stay was very disappointing.

The Dreamcatcher is a one-of-a-kind hotel; it is very in tune with the island vibe of unplugging and connecting with nature. The in-room hammock was fun, and the proximity to the beach couldn't be beaten. Unfortunately, our room was the only one on its floor that didn't have an in-room bathroom, and we weren't provided robes to make the situation less awkward. Crossing the public hallway to get to the bathroom created one uncomfortable interaction with others staying on the floor, and it made the experience feel much less premium when compared against the nightly rate we paid.
