It was a last minute reservation after a horrible experience with another hotel. The front desk was so nice and accommodating to my husband and I. We promised ourselves to come back soon to Monterey & we will for sure be staying in this hotel.

The best part about this hotel is its location. It is right in downtown Monterey which makes all the local attractions and dining easily walkable. After that, I wouldn't recommend it. First, don't trust the pictures online. Your room will NOT look like the pictures. The property needs a serious refresh because it looks old and tired. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is no real thermostat in the room so it was either too hot or too cold. The hotel sits on a very busy and LOUD street. We couldn't open the door to the deck to let in a breeze because it was loud and there was no privacy. Hot water in the shower took forever. For the price, I wouldn't recommend this place. If it was like $75/night then it would be a steal, but at $300/night it was a rip off.

Great stay! Only a few minor things. Hot tub wasn’t up and running but that was expected due to the weather. One of our rooms kitchen cabinet door came off the hinge. The other room’s bathroom toilet overflowed during the night. Otherwise, the place was very cozy and quiet. Also, clean! Staff were helpful.

Old and run down: the staff is rude, they charge 22 dollars just to park and don’t tell you till you arrive. The breakfast is bad coffee and dry muffins a little fruit and hard boiled eggs this place has went down hill. The noise is bad lots of street traffic
