Hotel common area were great. But an upper floor with a partial ocean view turned out to be 4th floor, sliver of ocean view, and close view of dumpsters. Fyi, dumpsters are emptied daily around 6am

Great location on the southern side of Waikiki Beach but outdated property in need of some refreshments. Small rooms and everything just feels dirty. The streets surrounding are loud and doesn’t help that the McDonalds across the street is a loud spot with unhoused frequenting or camped out in front.

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and greeted us with welcoming lei's! The view was amazing! We got to see the mountain, city, and ocean with an oceanview room. However, we did not like that most of the rooms are joined by a single door to make a joining room, because of that feature, we could hear a baby crying the entire night for a few nights in a row when we were trying to relax for our honeymoon. The other thing we didn't like was that one night we went down to one of the hotel restaurants/bar (Swell) to have a couple drinks and a cockroach flew into my husbands leg while standing at the bar! My husband told the bartender, who was also very rude the whole night, and he just dismissed it by saying that there are cockroaches all over the city. As soon as we walked away from the bar we saw two more lurking in the shadows hovering around the bar, right near the kitchen. Needless to say, we did not order food from there.

The hotel was over booked. Our room got downgraded because the hotel was overbooked due to a SAP conference. The people at the conference were rude and caused delays in everywhere we tried to access in the hotel. We even ran out of hot water before dinner, possibly because of the hotel being over booked. The only positive was the staff trying to make us as comfortable as possible. We come to Hawaii 2-3 times a year and will never stay at Alohilani again!
