Have been coming here since 1993. The unit we stayed in… #287…. Lacked several… many items… internet TERRIBLE, dishwasher needs immediate replacement, lack of several utensils we had to purchase ourselves, nowhere near as nice as these units used to be, activities , family and ‘games nights’ etc at Harmony Hill, Broadway, etc and the staff needed are necessary and needed for the ‘fun’ and relaxation that brought so many of us to The Welk at Escondido for so many in the past. The Hyatt has made this into a typical and boring Time Share exchange. We have been very disappointed (other than golf) , lack of items in our unit, TV operation, stove, dishwasher ….the ‘soaking tub’ is a BIG waste, difficult to use and Totally unnecessary (need a small jacuzzi if a tub is necessary). We are here for 2 weeks… spent over $1500 for 3 extra days thru Orbitz In order to put our 2 weeks together After coming her for over 30 years and ‘loving’ this Complex… I doubt if we’ll ever return. These 2 weeks (only 1 week so far) have been an extreme disappointment For the most years we’ve been her we’d rate the Welk Resort in Escondido as A . In 2021 we stayed in the Villas and there was a gas leak. They denied it fir 4 days until we started getting sick and Fire Dept verified a gas leak. That was about the time the Hyatt was about ‘take over’ I’m very disappointed in the Hyatts vision Hyatt is ‘high end’ Not everyplace needs to be the same

This resort is super nice, aside from needing some updates here and there. Our biggest issue was that we have a baby, and the property has no cribs or pack n plays. Instead they gave us a card for someone renting them for $30/day. We ended up buying a brand new pack n play for $70...which was cheaper than the rental. The whole thing wasted our time and money. Family friendly resorts should be friendly for the whole family.
Bed was comfortable. We were locked out of our unit for over an hour. No one could tell me when the problem would be fixed ( door needed new battery) and then no one contacted me when it was fixed although I was told I would be contacted. I wandered around , sat by the pool (without my swimsuit which was locked in the room) then, after trying to contact the front desk ( no luck, no one answered the phone) I went back to my unit and there was a note in the door saying the battery was replaced. No one ever apologized for the inconvenience. I had rented the room for this stay, which was in need of some maintenance. I can’t imagine anyone buying a timeshare here! No restaurants, except a Pizza Hut Express. A tiny market with a few staples.
Check in was terrible. Waited 1 1/2 hrs after check in time. This place is so disorganized. My first and LAST time staying here. Complete waist of my time and money. I expected a lot more for the price i paid. The property completely ran out of water in 100 plus degrees. Straight ridiculous. This place is a joke!

Loved the farmers market, it was a nice surprise. Many great options. Spacious villa we stayed in.
A 2 bed, 2 bath large apartment for the same price as many hotels want to charge for just a room. Absolutely beautiful! The beds were super comfy. The kitchen came furnished with plates, cookware, and utensils (we cooked for ourselves). The layout of the apartment was amazingly laid out with pleasant angles (not just 4 squared walls that makes you feel like your in a box). Would definitely stay here again. Only negatives was that checkin took 45 minutes because they appeared to be short staffed. Also, while very beautiful, our apartment did show some small signs of wear (a broken picture frame and a sizable gouge in the glass top stove cooking surface).

I will never return to Welk Resorts. They market themselves on their website as a hotel but they are nothing of the sort. There was no restaurant, no bar, and the two spots that were open for food poolside had very limited options. It was a very odd spot. Had I known we would have no access to food I would have never booked here. Extremely disappointing vacation and “resort”.
