The staff is amazing. Our flights were cancelled and we had to delay our trip by one day. Chico was amazing and changed everything without a problem. He was so kind and helpful. We called on arrival in Anchorage for a shuttle pickup and Walter picked us up from the airport. He was so informative. He explained all about their shuttle service and that they would take us to the train station in the morning and that they could also take us to pick up our rental car. We were originally going to stay at another hotel in Anchorage upon our return from Denali , but because of Chico’s helpfulness we booked the Wingate again. The rooms are clean and the beds are really comfortable. They had nice fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The Bathroom was also nice and clean. Lots of hot water. Breakfast was fine. A typical motel/hotel breakfast. (Eggs, bacon, muffins, bagels, toast, juice, voice, yogurt, and cereal)

They need to do better. We stayed there for 2 nights during Fur Rondy. We had no hot water the entire stay. Two towels, zero washcloths. Dog food in the corner of the room. We didn’t bring a dog. Even if we had hot water we couldn’t have taken a shower because the shower curtain didn’t reach the tub and water just poured into the floor. I did ask the first night if there was another room we could stay in, but was told the hotel was booked. Super cold pool. No towels in pool area, no soap or paper towels in pool bathroom. Beds were comfy, view was amazing and very convenient for what we wanted. We’ve stayed here before, when it was the Comfort Inn, and never had an issue. Don’t know what’s changed. Staff was very nice and tried to help but most issues were out of their control. And eat breakfast early or you miss out. We will find a new hotel next year. Sorry to say.

Was a little worried after reading some reviews, but we had a great stay. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and breakfast was good (cereals, yogurt, toast, eggs/bacon). We were there during Rondy, so there were lots of families at the hotel and people walking to/from downtown.

I had booked (and paid for) a suite and when we checked in they had over sold, which was disappointing, but Tia, manager, was able to get us into the suite after the first night. The customer service and convenience of the shuttle to an and from dinner made up for the rough first night. I would typically choose to stay somewhere a bit upgraded, but we booked for the jetted tub so was relieved it was available the next nights. Overall, just thankful it worked out in the end! Tia and team were accommodating and friendly the remainder of our trip.
