Description

The tour starts with the transfer from Salta hotels, from 07 am.

We will travel through the Lerma Valley, passing through tobacco fields and colonial villages with German style architecture, where it used to be the end point of the Belgrano railway. We enter the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas where the curious formations eroded by wind and water will be the main attraction: the dunes, the toad, the bishop, the devil's throat, castles, amphitheater, among others. Then, continue along the National Route No 68, arriving in Cafayate, the youngest city in the Calchaquíes Valleys, internationally recognized for its wine production, in particular the Torrontés, which can be tasted on visits to its wineries, whether Crafts or industrial type. We finally return to Salta by the same route, but with a completely different lighting, giving us another perspective on the landscape

The tour ends with the return to the hotels at 07 pm

The drive down to Cafayate was spectacular. Made a few stops to take pictures and stretch our legs. Tour guide did a very good job explaining the route in Spanish and English but you had to listen very carefully as the two languages ran into each other. If not listening to both you realized you were missing the English part and that was the one we understood. A pause in between would help. Highly recommend the area. However only tasted wine at 1 winery but we had free time in the town to explore and taste other wines.

Great trip. Be ready to drive for several hours. The sights were incredible and we're lucky we had good weather. The guide was able to explain everything in Spanish and English. We went to 2 bodegas and then the museum. Both were great and we got to try several varieties of wine. Museum was pretty boring-better to taste the wine and learn about the process first hand. Only thing is we were with a large group ok the bus but then we were separated from the group when we arrived in Cafayate and brought to different vineyards which was confusing because no one knew what was going on but it worked out.
