Bike Down Waimea Canyon

by Outfitters Kauai Duration 4h+ Nonrefundable No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is $115

Ride along a 13-mile (21-km) path that stretches from the top of Waimea Canyon to sea-level—a whopping 3,600-foot (1,100-m) drop. Expert guides lead the downhill ride, sharing native Hawaiian lore and helping you enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and dramatic canyon cliffs.

Begin this half-day excursion with a quick briefing on biking safety and the ride's logistics as you enjoy some light refreshments, fueling up with coffee and fresh-baked blueberry muffins in the morning and soft drinks and cookies from a local bakery in the afternoon. All bikes are comfortable cruisers with wide saddles, high-rise handlebars, and powerful brakes—perfect for your downhill journey.

When you're ready, set off down the mile-wide (1.2-km) canyon and notice the verdant tropical plants, vocal birds, and stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. As you start to pick up speed and glide downhill with ease, your charismatic guide relates their infectious passion for Hawaii through a vast knowledge of the culture, history, landmarks, and legends. Stop at multiple lookout points and notice the neighboring “Forbidden Isle” of Ni'ihau, the only private island in the Hawaiian Archipelago, before arriving at the bottom for your return ride to Poipu.

The early bird bike tour includes fresh-brewed Kauai Coffee and blueberry muffins hot out of the oven as we ride up in our van. On the afternoon tour we serve cold soft drinks, spring water and Hanalima Bakery Cookies.

Isaac and Kevin were excellent in keeping us safe on our bike ride. They even feed you breakfast on the way to the canyon. I wish the ride would have been longer. I had so much funI didn't want it to end!
