Description

Day 1: Huaraz – Laguna 69 – Hospedaje Illary Vaqueria

6am transfer to Cebollapampa 4000masl, hike up to lake 69, back and go up to the next pass 4800, enjoy the view of the mountains, then to Vaqueria hostel natural environment dinner and overnight at 3750masl

Day 2: Hospedaje Illary Vaqueria – Tuctu

Start at Vaquiera Walk along Huarípampa Valley, pass small farms. Camp at Paria 3900 m. Distance: 5.5 miles (9 km) walking time: 4 hours

Day 3: Tuctu – Pucajirca Pass – Quisuar

hike up for about 3 hours to Alto Pucahirca pass 4700masl, then to huecroncocha, and set up the camp site at Quisuar at 3900masl, walking distance 12km about 8 hours.

Day 4: Quisuar - Tupatupa Pass – Jancapampa

hiking for about two hours and get Tupatupa pass 4450masl, then to Jancapampa and set up the camp site at the beautiful scenery with mountains views camp site at 3800masl. Walking distance about 12km, 8 hours.

Day 5: Jancapampa – Yanacon Pass – Huillca

Hiking up for a quite long until Yanacon pass 4850masl, considered the most difficult hiking pass in this circuit, then down to Huilca campsite at 4300masl, walking distance 14km, 8 hours

Day 6: Huillca – Safuna – Mesapata Pass – Tayapampa

start hiking to lake Safuna, then up to mesapata pass 4500masl easy, and walk down for couple of hours, total distance hiking about 10km 7 hours

Day 7: Tayapampa – Caracara Pass – Jancarurish

hike-up to caracara pass 4850masl, beautiful views of santa cruz massif and Alpamayo, campsite at Jancarurish at 4250masl. hiking distance about 10km, 8 hours.

Day 8: Jancarurish – North Face Base Camp Alpamayo

rest day and explore at your own, relax, eat and sleep in the base of Alpamayo north face at 4250masl.

Day 9: Jancarurish – Ruinapampa – Ichic Vientona – Osoruri

walk the Cedros valley to ruinapampa, start zigzag trail up for 3 hours, the highest pass is ichicvientona 4750masl, then one hour to Osoruri 4625masl - 9 hours 12km aprox

Day 10: Osoruri – Jatun Vientona – Calamina

hike up to pass of hatunvientona 4850masl for an hour, view of nice cullicocha lake, then walk down to Calamina for the camp site at about 3800masl, walking distance aprox 8 hours.

Day 11: Calamina – Hualacayan – Huaraz

Last day of trek, walk 3 hours to the village of Hualcayan at 2800masl, the trail end, transfer to take us back to Huaraz, 4 hours drive, arriving around 4pm
