Description

The Big Island of Hawaii is one of the world’s top diving destinations.

And whether it’s angelfish or sleeping cave sharks, interacting with Hawaii’s sealife is otherworldly.

Despite Hilo’s 300 miles of coastline diving wonders, most divers stop at Kona. For the adventurous diver, Hilo, located on the east side of the island, offers affordable, exciting, and unspoiled world-class diving.

Hilo sits in Hilo Bay, poised on the flanks of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, the twin 14,000-foot volcano peaks. It is the gateway to Kilauea volcano, a cinder cone on the slopes of Mauna Loa, the world’s most active eruption. The volcano defines Hilo diving. Our tour departs from the Wailoa Boat harbor in downtown Hilo and ventures beyond the breakwall to explore and dive the scenic coastline on our 28 foot ocean faring vessel. Enjoy the iconic lush coastlines that Hilo has to offer, and explore untouched coves where pods of dolphins hide away and often play in our wake. Depending on condtions we offer several dive sites, noted for unique double and single-lava arches, caves, interesting lava walls, and crevasses showing the volcano seascape at its best. An ancient volcano caldera is marked by a lava wall bowl and features a sand bottom at 60 feet. Coral formations paint the walls. Manta rays are often seen gliding through the caldera. Sea life is abundant including butterfly fish, parrot fish, tangs, turtles and the namesake eels. The sea turtle population also is perhaps the most populous in the state. Some of our sites are home to a turtle cleaning station where tangs tend the shells of resting.

Leave your gear at home and dive in our top of the line equipment including 2018 Atomic Z3 regulators and Oceanic BCD's. Come dive with the best on the ONLY dive boat in East Hawai'i!
