Casablanca was introduced to many in the famous Humphrey Bogart movie of the same name. However, there is a lot more to Casablanca than the imaginary Rick s Cafe. This city of 3 million is a commercial hub of the region and a gateway to Africa. This seaside city will impress you with its culture and cuisine. You can fly from Riyadh to Casablanca from the King Khalid International Airport (RUH), located 22 miles north of the city, and arrive in just over seven hours.
Casablanca is an international crossroads that reflects its varied cultures in its architecture. Landmarks such as the Ville Nouvelle and the Casablanca Cathedral in New Town reflect the French colonial period. Mahkama du Pacha is a Hispanic-Moorish structure decorated with spectacular carved ceilings and beautifully tiled floors. Many travelers walk out to the island Marabout de Sidi Abderrahmane at low tide to see the tomb of Sidi Abderrhamane Thaalibi, a saint in Morocco. If you like to relax for an afternoon, head out to Ain Diab Plage, the city s favorite beach.
When you fly from Riyadh to Casablanca, you will land at the Mohammed V International Airport (CMN). Take the train from the airport to Casa Voyageurs station on the outskirts of downtown.
