Fly to Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport
If you fly to Gdansk, you'll be placed in the unique Tricity area of Pomerania in Poland. The three cities Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia are located on the western edge of the Gdansk Bay, and offer a distinctive snapshot of Polish modern life and culture.
Gdansk is the largest of the three cities, and provides an eclectic mix of intricate post-World War II architecture, alongside a medieval Old Town Hall and port cranes. Many of these buildings can be found in the Gdansk city center along the Dlugi Targ (Long Market) where you can grab a traditional Polish meal and a few beers.
Getting around
After flying in to Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (GDN), use local buses, taxi or car rental to make your way in to the city. Perhaps the most relaxing way to get around the Tricity area is by boat. Several boat companies will take you from Gdansk to Sopot, giving you full views of Gdansk Bay. The fastest way to get around, however, is on the SKM, a train system that runs constantly from Gdynia to Gdansk.
