<\/em>Are you ready for some football? I know am! While summers are great for a Tennessee vacation<\/strong> (this year has been particularly hot and humid), our minds are now on fall and football, and there’s no better place to watch a football game than Nashville<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Home field advantage<\/strong>
\n LP Field<\/strong>, home of the Tennessee Titans<\/a>, is an open-air, natural grass stadium surrounded by more than 20,00 trees. It’s located on the east bank of the Cumberland River and within walking distance to downtown Nashville. There isn\u2019t a bad seat in the stadium, but in case you miss a play there are two scoreboard screens on both ends of the field and at least 60 concession stands so you don\u2019t have to go far to find what you’re looking for.<\/p>\n

Pre and post-game party
\n<\/strong>The field is within walking distance of downtown — where all the action is before and after the game. On the main strip of Broadway, you can find fans getting a bite to eat or a drink before the game at Bailey\u2019s<\/strong> and Big River Grille<\/strong> (tables fill up fast, so make sure to arrive no later than 10:30am on noon game days if you want to get a seat). After eating, \u00a0everyone heads over to the game and the cheering begins on the walk over the bridge to the stadium. While we all want our team to win, the best part of Nashville football is that if you have to endure a loss, it isn’t long before you’ll start\u00a0 cheering up. Just walk over the bridge towards Broadwayand listen to live music in Tootsies, Legends Corner<\/strong> or Second Fiddle.<\/strong> Let the music and dancing take you away, and why not — you have the rest of the day to enjoy!<\/p>\n

The visiting team<\/strong>
\nIf you’re visiting from out of town, there are plenty of Nashville hotels<\/a> within walking distance to the stadium, like the Sheraton, Courtyard, Hilton and Doubletree<\/strong>. Because these hotels sell out on Titans game weekends the rates can be a little higher than usual. If you’re on a budget, there are several options to choose from. Just across the highway is the West End\/Vanderbilt area of town. Hotel Indigo<\/a>, Courtyard Vanderbilt<\/a>, \u00a0and the Hutton Hotel<\/a> are a little less expensive and provide shuttles for guests into downtown. For even more savings, hotels near the airport are much cheaper, a cab ride to the game is only about $20 each way and you don’t have to worry about parking.<\/p>\n
