Credit: Wolfgang Staudt.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>By Jennifer Nielsen<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Living in <strong>Park City, Utah<\/strong> for the past 9 years, I&#8217;ve really experienced some of what southern Utah has to offer.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve explored some of the most incredible national parks, biked and hiked unbelievable trails.\u00a0 Every fall my family and I pack up the car and head south to <strong>Moab<\/strong> or <strong>St. George<\/strong> for a long weekend, looking forward to the last bit of summer before the cold weather hits the mountains.\u00a0 Here in southern Utah, you&#8217;ll find some of the most amazing sites and activities around.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Biking in<\/strong> <strong>Moab: <\/strong>For some of the greatest mountain biking around, check out Moab. \u00a0Beginners will love scenic rides through the canyons while advanced riders can take up more extreme challenges. \u00a0\u00a0For the extreme mountain biker, Slick Rock is where it\u2019s at.\u00a0 With 10.6 miles of pure entertainment, you&#8217;ll be technically challenged and exhausted. For families with toddlers, I&#8217;d recommend Mill Creek Parkway; it has paved paths with for bikes with trailers and it\u2019s usually shaded by the trees.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hiking at <\/strong><a title=\"Zion National Park\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/zion\/index.htm\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Zion National Park:<\/strong> <\/a> At Zion you&#8217;ll find a variety of trails to choose from \u2013 beginner to advanced, and anywhere from a half to eight hour hikes.\u00a0 What\u2019s great is that a bus can take you throughout the park and stop at each trail head. But don&#8217;t forget, \u00a0there&#8217;s a fee to enter this park.\u00a0 One of my favorite hikes at Zion is <strong>Angels Landing<\/strong>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s an advanced narrow trail with extremely steep drop-offs.\u00a0 Some of the best views can been seen at the top of the summit.\u00a0 During the four-hour hike there are areas where you cross a narrow bridge holding on to a chain-linked railing. \u00a0 Other favorites are <strong>Delicate Arch<\/strong> and <strong>Landscape Arch<\/strong> in <a title=\"Arches National Park\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/arch\/index.htm\" target=\"_self\">Arches National Park<\/a>.\u00a0 These hikes are considered intermediate and are around two to three miles.\u00a0 Be sure to wear appropriate walking shoes and clothing and always bring lots of water and power bars &#8211; you\u2019ll definitely work up an appetite.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adventure in National Parks:<\/strong> Stay in <strong>St. George<\/strong> and experience the spectacular sceneryin Zion National Park, or the North Rim of the <a title=\"Grand Canyon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/PerformSDLPDealsContent?deal_id=grandcanyon&amp;cnt=OVI\" target=\"_self\">Grand Canyon<\/a>. Both parks are stunning and have multiple trails for hiking for all levels.\u00a0 Bryce Canyon is only 142 miles from St. George where you can check out the park&#8217;s unique natural sculptures.
