Plan for at least 2-3 hours and prepare to be humbled.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Andy Warhol Museum: Pittsburgh<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Located in the city where the pop artist was born and raised, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.warhol.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Andy Warhol Museum<\/a> is the largest museum in North America dedicated to a single artist. The permanent and impressive collection not only displays many of his most famous works of art, including film and video and the interactive <em>Silver Clouds<\/em>, but also offers insight into the life and times of the mercurial artist. At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehenryford.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Henry Ford<\/a> museum in suburban Dearborn, which is also the headquarters for the motor company, visitors can explore \u201cone of the world\u2019s coolest museums,\u201d according to the <em>New York Times<\/em>. Featuring more than nine acres of exhibits, highlights include Rosa Parks\u2019s famous bus, President Kennedy\u2019s limousine, and Abraham Lincoln\u2019s chair among other Americana. Although it cost more than $1 billion to construct, the museum and its six buildings are entirely free to visitors (though parking is not), as are the well-manicured gardens and stunning views overlooking Los Angeles. And the best part is you can see a lot of impressive artwork (some might argue even more than The Met) without ever feeling overwhelmed. Built for the 1893 World\u2019s Fair, this downtown stunner&#8217;s highlights include Grant Wood&#8217;s &#8220;American Gothic, Edward Hopper&#8217;s &#8220;Nighthawks,&#8221; and Seurat&#8217;s &#8220;Sunday on La Grande Jatte.&#8221; The beautiful Modern Wing includes a pedestrian bridge that drops visitors right into the heart of Millennium Park.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>National WWII Museum: New Orleans<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>One of the highest-rated museums in the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalww2museum.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The National WWII Museum<\/a> is also one of its largest and most moving. Located in the Central Business District in New Orleans, this 32,000-square-foot exhibit details why the war was fought, how it was won (both at home and abroad) and what the allied victory means today. The only downside, the museum can be overwhelming.
