With that in mind, here are three of the finest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/Los-Angeles-Hotels.d178280.Travel-Guide-Hotels\/\">Los Angeles beach hotels<\/a> where you can enjoy both the Southern California scene and the coast.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/United_States--CA\/Long_Beach\/Hotel_Maya,_a_Joie_de_Vivre_Hotel\/#\/\"><strong>Hotel Maya<\/strong><\/a> in Long Beach has a self-proclaimed\u00a0<em>joie de vivre<\/em> that\u2019s bolstered by its close proximity to one of the city\u2019s great attractions, the Queen Mary. It\u2019s also home to one of the few truly elegant waterfront restaurants in LA, Fuego, which specializes in Mexican and Latin American cuisine. The freshly renovated rooms offer scenic ocean and city-skyline views. It\u2019s also pet-friendly, but for a romantic getaway I suggest leaving Spot at home.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/United_States--CA\/Santa_Monica\/Hotel_Shangri-La\/#\/\"><strong>Hotel Shangri-La<\/strong><\/a> in Santa Monica has the ubber-modern exterior look of a futuristic hospital, but the oceanside bluff it\u2019s perched on gives it away. Inside, it\u2019s head-to-toe Art Deco from suites that scream \u201cglamorous\u201d to the dining room that whispers \u201cfeed me gourmet things.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/United_States--CA\/Rancho_Palos_Verdes\/Terranea_Resort_-__Destination_Hotels_&amp;_Resorts\/#\/\">Terranea Resort<\/a> <\/strong>in Palos Verdes stands as an example of all that\u2019s right in the world when ocean meets land meets man-made structure. I\u2019ve never had a coastal view actually take my breath away, but this came close.
