Don\u2019t let those crazy Mardi Gras stories overshadow the fact that New Orleans is packed with family-friendly activities and attractions. Here are my top 10 places to stay and play<\/strong> if you\u2019re traveling with the kids to my hometown of NOLA:<\/p>\n

1 New Orleans hotels<\/strong><\/a>: Find \u201cKids Eat Free\/Kids Stay Free\u201d packages and refreshing pools at Holiday Inn Chateau Lemoyne<\/a> and Hotel St. Pierre<\/a>, both located in family-friendly sections of the French Quarter.<\/p>\n

2 The Audubon Insectarium<\/a><\/strong>: Visit the largest free-standing museum in the country dedicated to bugs, bugs, and more bugs.<\/p>\n

3 The Audubon Zoo<\/a><\/strong>: Ride the famous streetcar down to the zoo to visit the alligators at the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit or one of the many hands-on animal encounters.<\/p>\n
