There are two main travel options for exploring the islands. Most choose cruise-based tours which visit 5-10 islands during a week long trip. From mainland Ecuador, you can take a regional flight out to the islands to start your trip. There are two commercial airports in the Galapagos. One is the Baltra Airport (Code: GPS) located on a small island off of the larger Santa Cruz Island. From December to May the water and air temps are <\/span><span class=\"adverb\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-3-0\">slightly<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-4-0\"> higher and the seas are generally calmer. <\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-5-0\">During this time, the islands see <\/span><\/span><span class=\"adverb\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-6-0\">slightly<\/span><\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-7-0\"> more rain which can also result in flowers coming into bloom and more colorful landscapes<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-8-0\">. <\/span><span class=\"veryhardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-9-0\">June through November is <\/span><\/span><span class=\"adverb\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-10-0\">slightly<\/span><\/span><span class=\"veryhardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-11-0\"> cooler and sea currents change, bringing nutrient rich water and attracting marine life<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"d267h-12-0\">.
