With a name like Epic<\/a><\/em>, expectations are already set quite high for Norwegian Cruise Line\u2019s<\/a> latest \u2013 and greatest \u2013 vessel, which begins its maiden voyage on July 17, 2010, crossing the pond from London<\/a> to New York<\/a>. Year-round Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises<\/a> will follow, and in Spring of 2011, she’ll dock in Barcelona<\/a> to offer Western Mediterranean sailings<\/a>. While the Epic<\/em>\u2019s destinations are surely impressive, the onboard amenities are just as remarkable. In addition to debuting the largest spa at sea boasting the ultra-luxurious 24-karat gold facial, the Epic<\/em> will be setting some other cruise ship records as well: the Epic Plunge<\/strong> towers above all other onboard bowl slides, and The Villas<\/strong> will claim the title of largest suite complex at sea.<\/p>\n

Speaking of accommodations, the Epic<\/em> offers a little something for every type of traveler. Want to unwind and escape? Opt for a spa stateroom, which features an in-room hot tub and exclusive access to the Courtyard Area and The Epic Club. If you\u2019re sailing solo, book one of the brand-new Studios complete with a full-sized bed, extra personal space and private access to the Studio Lounge where you can meet up with friends, family, or other guests. There are also lots of choices if you\u2019re bringing the kids along, including family balcony rooms and a large selection of connecting staterooms.<\/p>\n

For those guests looking to add some entertainment into the mix, there\u2019s also the Cirque Dreams\u2122 & Dinner show<\/strong>, which serves up tableside acrobatics and even some audience participation as well. The top names don\u2019t stop there; Blue Man Group<\/strong> and The Second City<\/strong> comedy troupe are just a few of theother headliners onboard. After catching a performance, cruisers can stay cool in the only Ice Bar<\/strong> at sea or heat things up at Posh<\/strong>, an upscale beach club.<\/p>\n
