Gladstone<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m still digesting (in every sense of the word) the amazing experience I had earlier this month at Vegas Uncork\u2019d, the annual gourmet festival presented by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Bon Appetit magazine\">Bon Appetit<\/a> magazine here. Foodies, mark your calendar, because this is truly a unique event, where you not only get to sample the food of internationally revered chefs, but socialize and even cook with them (maybe even gamble)!<\/p>\n<p>Uncork\u2019d reminded me just how many star chefs we have in our <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/PerformMDLPDealsContent?deal_id=vegasvacation&amp;cnt=PKH\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Las Vegas hotels on Orbitz\">Las Vegas hotels<\/a><\/strong> (\u201cwho <em>isn\u2019t <\/em>here?\u201d is the popular refrain) \u2026 so many that visitors often aren\u2019t even aware of them all. That seemed like a good reason to attempt a comprehensive listing &#8212; and remind everyone that, since many of their restaurants are offering dining deals (and have casual outposts too), you can create your own food festival here anytime you want!<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that some of these chefs are here more frequently than others (I\u2019ve starred those for whom Las Vegas is home base), but no doubt those that only visit every few weeks trust their kitchens to the next rising stars\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>French<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ultimate masters of French cooking around the world, and here, everyone largely agrees are <strong>Joel Robuchon<\/strong> (<strong>The Mansion at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=119934\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MGM Grand on Orbitz\">MGM Grand<\/a><\/strong>) and <strong>Guy Savoy<\/strong> at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=19391\" target=\"_blank\"title=\"Caesars Palace on Orbitz\">Caesars Palace<\/a><\/strong>; an evening at either restaurant is not just a meal but an event.<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>*Alessandro Stratta<\/strong> bends the genre, but lovingly, at his gorgeously appointed <strong>Alex<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=222369\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Wynn on Orbitz\">Wynn<\/a><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>The legendary <strong>Alain Ducasse<\/strong> presents his cuisine with a remarkable view at <strong>MIX<\/strong>, atop <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=67541\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"THEHotel at Mandalay Bay on Orbitz\">THEHotel<\/a>, <\/strong>while <strong>Jean Joho<\/strong> also offers a view with his menu at <strong>Eiffel Tower Restaurant<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=271632\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Paris Hotel on Orbitz\">Paris<\/a><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Daniel Boulud\u2019s Brasserie<\/strong> (<strong>Wynn<\/strong>) and <strong>Le Cirque at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=13374\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Bellagio on Orbitz\">Bellagio<\/a><\/strong> (helmed by *<strong>Chef David Werly<\/strong>) are not to be missed.<\/li>\n<li>Both <strong>Thomas Keller<\/strong> and <strong>Hubert Keller<\/strong> (unrelated, though they ought to be!) have the classic <strong>Bouchon<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=24111\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Venetian on Orbitz\">Venetian<\/a><\/strong>) and romantic <strong>Fleur De Lys<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=67410\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Mandalay Bay on Orbitz\">Mandalay Bay<\/a><\/strong>) respectively.<\/li>\n<li>And one of our first gourmet chefs, <strong>*Andre Rochat<\/strong>, serves modernized classics at <strong>Andre\u2019s<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=58019\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Monte Carlo on Orbitz\">Monte Carlo<\/a><\/strong>) and <strong>Alize<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>American &amp; Steaks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Of course, the French don\u2019t own a trademark on fine dining: <strong>Bradley Ogden<\/strong> presents an ever changing arrayof homeland-inspired delights at his namesake (<strong>Caesars Palace<\/strong>), while <strong>Emeril Lagasse<\/strong> is represented at <strong>Table 10<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=258315\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Palazzo on Orbitz\">Palazzo<\/a><\/strong>) as well as <strong>Delmonico<\/strong> (<strong>Venetian<\/strong>) and his <strong>Fish House<\/strong> (<strong>MGM Grand<\/strong>), and <strong>Michael Mina\u2019s Nobhill Tavern<\/strong> offers San Francisco treats (<strong>MGM Grand<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>Some of the best steaks anywhere are at <strong>Tom Colicchio\u2019s Craftsteak<\/strong> (<strong>MGM Grand<\/strong>) &#8212; and since Top Chef is filming in Las Vegas now, expect to see him more often these days &#8212; not to mention <strong>Jean-George Vongerichten\u2019sPrime<\/strong> (<strong>Bellagio<\/strong>) and <strong>*David Walzog\u2019s SW Steakhouse<\/strong> (<strong>Wynn<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>And speaking of meat, though I\u2019ve stayed away from mentioning most chef\u2019s casual offshoots, <strong>BLT Burger<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=13375\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"The Mirage Hotel &amp; Casino on Orbitz\">Mirage<\/a><\/strong>) is all we\u2019ve got of <strong>Laurent Tourondel<\/strong> &#8212; and even if it\u2019s fancy diner food, you won\u2019t feel shortchanged.<\/li>\n<li>I can\u2019t neglect to include whimsical <strong>David Burke<\/strong>\u2019s spot in <strong>Venetian<\/strong>, or <strong>The Country Club<\/strong> (<strong>Wynn<\/strong>), now under the realm of respected chef <strong>*Carlos Guia.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/migrated\/6a00e54ece184a8833011570aad57d970b.jpg\" style=\"float: right;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Las Vegas Hotels\" class=\"at-xid-6a00e54ece184a8833011570aad57d970b \" src=\"https:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/migrated\/6a00e54ece184a8833011570aad57d970b.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px; width: 250px;\" \/><\/a> Seafood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As much as it seems counter-intuitive (i.e. crazy) to expect great fish in the desert, the fact is, we have it. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>*Paul Bartolotta\u2019s Ristorante di Mare<\/strong> (<strong>Wynn<\/strong>) offers unique catches from the waters around Italy.<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><\/span><strong>Rick Moonen\u2019s RM Seafood<\/strong> (<strong>Mandalay Place<\/strong>) has some of the freshest seafood you can find anywhere.<\/li>\n<li>And <strong>Michael Mina Bellagio<\/strong> as well as his MGM Grand-based <strong>SeaBlue<\/strong> both get accolades.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Ethnicities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vegas does have a way of finding the best of everything.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>only<\/strong> <strong>Michelin two-star<\/strong> (yes, that\u2019s a big deal) <strong>Chinese restaurant in the entire US is Chef *Richard Chen\u2019s Wing Lei<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>There are many great sushi spots in Las Vegas hotels, but <strong>Marssa<\/strong> at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=213307\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort on Orbitz\">Loews Lake Las Vegas<\/a><\/strong> is the only one where you can be served personally by <strong>Master Sushi Chef *Osamu Fujita<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>At <strong>Bellagio<\/strong>, <strong>Yellowtail\u2019s *Akira Back<\/strong> is becoming a bigger deal every day. And many sushi chefs got their start at <strong>Chef Matsuhisa\u2019s Nobu<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=69033\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Hard Rock Hotel on Orbitz\">Hard Rock Hotel<\/a><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>For Italian, James Beard awarded <strong>*Luciano Pellegrini\u2019s Valentino<\/strong> (<strong>Venetian<\/strong>) is a must, unless <strong>Mario Batali\u2019s B&amp;B Ristorante<\/strong> (<strong>Venetian<\/strong>) or <strong>Carnevino<\/strong> (<strong>Palazzo<\/strong>) lure you their way.<\/li>\n<li>Celeb chef <strong>Bobby Flay\u2019s Mesa Grill <\/strong>offers haute Southwest dishes (<strong>Caesars Palace<\/strong>) while some of the finest Mexican anywhere is at <strong>Mandalay Bay\u2019s Border Grill<\/strong> (Remember the Two Hot Tamales, Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger?) as well as <strong>Richard Sandoval\u2019s Isla<\/strong> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=25675\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"TI on Orbitz\">TI<\/a><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/migrated\/6a00e54ece184a883301156fb595ae970c.jpg\" style=\"float: right;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Las Vegas hotel\" class=\"at-xid-6a00e54ece184a883301156fb595ae970c \" src=\"https:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/migrated\/6a00e54ece184a883301156fb595ae970c.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px; width: 250px;\" \/><\/a> Unique<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then there are those restaurants which can only be defined by their own terms, finding inspiration from throughout the world.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chief among these would have to be <strong>Charlie Trotter\u2019s trancendent Restaurant Charlie<\/strong> (<strong>Palazzo<\/strong>) but few would be disappointed either by a meal from <strong>*Julian Serrano at Picasso<\/strong>, <strong>*Martin Heierling\u2019s Sensi<\/strong>, <strong>Todd English\u2019s Olives<\/strong> (all three, <strong>Bellagio<\/strong>) or Top Chef winner <strong>*Kerry Simon at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/ViewSpecificHotelLP?masterId=271498\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Palms Place Hotel and Spa on Orbitz\">Palms Place<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, I would be absolutely remiss not to mention two of our first fine dining destinations &#8212; both still very respected &#8212; <strong>Charlie Palmer\u2019s Aureole<\/strong> (home of the wine angels, in <strong>Mandalay Bay<\/strong>) and <strong>Wolfgang Puck\u2019s Spago<\/strong> (<strong>Forum Shops at Caesars Palace<\/strong>). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are, of course, many more amazing rising chefs here that you haven\u2019t heard of, too.
