The first-time Cabo visitor might think one beach is pretty much the same as the other. Not so. Here are four of our hidden favorites to explore on a Los Cabos vacation<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pla<\/strong>aria<\/strong>ya Santa M<\/strong>is hardly a secret: Because the fish like it, so do snorkelers. And of course, those ubiquitous necklace sellers who cruise the sand. And a zillion charter boats. So why are we suggesting it?<\/p>\n

Because if you get there early in the day, you can have three or four hours of the most solitude and peace you may ever realize in Cabo. The water is very clear and calm, and there are no facilities (bring your own towels!). So until about 10 a.m., those fantasies of owning your own miles of sand can feel like reality.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re a surfer, we recommend Alcapulquito in the Costa Azul <\/strong>bay. The bottom\u2019s mostly sand, though there are a few rocks, and the reef break makes for consistent waves. Though popular with experienced surfers, especially in the summer, this beach is safe for beginners too.<\/p>\n

In the winter, Playa Los Cerritos<\/strong> near Todos Santos gets a ton of action thanks to its consistent breaks. The only thing to watch out for if you\u2019re a beginner to beginning intermediate is the occasional bigswell.<\/p>\n

Los Barriles<\/strong> is a fantastic kite surfing and windsurfing beach, particularly in the winter. It\u2019s still fairly uncrowded, with a crowd that\u2019s serious about surfing and not so much about partying. Locals are trying to keep this one secret from the tourist crowds, but it probably won’t stay that way for long.<\/p>\n
