Sushi fans in Los Angeles are already familiar with this raw fish spot, which is opening its first East Coast outpost near NYC\u2019s Union Square. Sugarfish<\/a> will feature about 40 seats and three sets of coursed-out omakase \u201ctrust me\u201d menus at different price points. There\u2019s also an a la carte list for sushi fans who\u2019d rather take matters into their own hands.<\/p>\n

abcV<\/h3>\n

You won\u2019t find meat on the menu at the latest restaurant by world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten because the V in the name stands for vegan here. Instead, look for abcV<\/a>‘s heavy focus on veggies at this sister restaurant to ABC Kitchen and ABC Cocina. The eatery will serve lunch and dinner, but will also have breakfast options via a to-go counter and juice bar.<\/p>\n

Tim Ho Wan<\/h3>\n

Been\u00a0to Hong Kong? Then you’ve probably tasted the fantastic dumplings at this mini-chain, which holds the distinction of being the world\u2019s most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant. Now, you won\u2019t have to log as many miles to experience the menu from chef and dim sum master Mak Kwai Pui. Tim Ho Wan, the first North American outpost of the must-visit restaurant, is set to open in the East Village by year’s end.<\/p>\n

Sweetcatch<\/h3>\n

Poke bowls (the Hawaiian dish is like a cross between sushi and salad) are the buzzy food items of 2016, and this NYC spot is carrying on with the trend. Backed by Lee Anne Wong (of “Top Chef” fame), casual spot Sweetcatch is opening three locations in Midtown, perfect for grabbing poke on the go. The restaurant will feature build-your-own-bowls, a pay-by-the-pound poke station and Hawaiian beer.<\/p>\n

The legendary deli is expanding from the island of Manhattan and setting up an additional shop (with an abbreviated menu) at this soon-to-open food hall. In fact, folks at the Dekalb Market Hall say it\u2019ll be one of the biggest food halls in the country with more than 40 vendors under one roof.<\/p>\n
