I explained in a previous post<\/a><\/strong> why Atlantis<\/a><\/strong> is a
\ngreat place for a family vacation<\/a><\/strong>. But there’s plenty of action for grown-ups traveling without kids, whether it’s for a chick trip, a guys’ getaway or a romantic Bahamas vacation<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here are a few ideas about where to stay and what to do: <\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Cove<\/strong><\/a>: This is the no-brainer
\nfirst choice for people who want a quieter visit. You’ll get access to the
\ntoo-cool-for school Cain pool<\/strong> and outdoor casino area and avoid the rush of
\nfamilies swarming over the rest of the property.<\/p>\n

Royal Towers<\/a><\/strong>: This is the epicenter of Atlantis<\/a><\/strong> action. Housing the huge
\ncasino, all the upscale restaurants, the nightclub, and closest-to-the-water
\nactivities and the spa, this is the place for adults who spell Party with a
\ncapital "P."<\/p>\n

Harborside Resort<\/a><\/strong>: For the couple who wants to be out
\non the water diving or sailing, Harborside<\/a><\/strong> is the closest walk to the marina,
\nand the spot with the space to keep your gear. For the more tennis\/golf types,
\nany of the accommodations will do, as a shuttle ride is required to access
\nthose facilities.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Adult amenities and actvities:<\/strong><\/o:p><\/p>\n

Cain<\/a><\/strong>: Doing its best to be part Vegas<\/strong>, South Beach<\/strong> and the <\/st1:place>Bahamas<\/strong> at the
\nsame time, Cain is the new adult-only pool, bar, and outdoor casino aimed at upscale
\nrevelers looking to live the high life. It has loud music pumping everywhere,
\nbright swim-on red mattresses in the middle of the pool, and staff members
\nwaiting to help you choose between mojitos and the way-less-cool margaritas.<\/o:p>\n<\/p>\n

Spa<\/strong>: More Asia than Atlantis<\/a><\/strong>,
\nthe spa is going for the Zen retreat feel. Dark stained wood, black lacquer, a
\ncolor therapy installation in the whirpool area. The decor wasn’t exactly my
\nthing, but the massage was by far one of the best I have ever had, anywhere. My
\ntherapist was knowledgeable without needing to ask any questions, eased a
\nproblem I\u2019ve had in my back forever, and knew how to stay quiet. Going to Atlantis<\/a><\/strong> without using the spa should be a crime.<\/o:p>\n<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n

Snuba<\/strong>: <\/strong>Fear not. Thanks to a helmet and some tubes, the "wonders
\nof the deep" are no longer reserved just for Jacques Cousteau or people
\nwith Scuba certifications. Snuba is an airtight helmet allowing people to
\nbreathe as normally as they would on land. Guests can do snuba in the Mayan Temple, where they can interact with sharks (one of the 399 non-human eating variety)
\nand other fish. <\/p>\n
