More than twenty-five years later (and still not sanctioned by Disney) it draws together an estimated 150,000 people for a week-long\u00a0gathering\u00a0that includes pool parties, A Taste of Gay Days, and Miss Gay Days Pageant and is beloved by both a party crowd and same-sex families.\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>11. Discover Heaven on earth: London<br \/>\n<\/strong>The dazzling English capital is a great queer city to live like a king or queen for a few days. Follow in the footsteps of the Royal Family, do a Notting Hill market, Ride the London Eye, and see a West End show. A visit to Heaven nightclub should top your Brit bucket list. A queer fixture since the &#8217;70s, even if your club days are long behind you, chug a Red Bull, grab a few mates, and prepare to dance and sweat &#8217;til dawn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12. Shout &#8220;O-69!&#8221; at Drag Bingo: Los Angeles<br \/>\n<\/strong>There&#8217;s a number of ways to get your gay on in the City of Angels (pool parties and beach days, anyone?) But in a city of famed for supposed superficiality, a night of unpretentious charity bingo at ubiquitous hamburger chain Hamburger Mary&#8217;s offers proof positive that Angelenos love to give back. Sure, there&#8217;s drag bingo in just about every city in America, but how often are they hosted a <em>Drag Race<\/em> superstar and how often in other cities do queer celebs just happen to be in the audience?<\/p>\n<p><strong>13. Find a dungeon with your name on it: Berlin<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you want to let your hair down, as in all the way down, look no further than Germany&#8217;s loose and libidinous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/Berlin-Hotels.d179892.Travel-Guide-Hotels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">capital city<\/a> where bodies literally go bump in the night. No sexual fetish is too extreme and people of every gender identity and expression will find their desires catered to, especially at queer spaces like Lab.oratory\u2014perhaps the most adventurous bar and sex club on earth at the moment. Stay at a gay resort: Fort Lauderdale, FL<br \/>\n<\/strong>Who would&#8217;ve imagined\u00a0a sun-drenched canal town best known for launching the gaudy, libidinous tradition known as spring break would reinvent itself as a high-end destination for gays and lesbians? Boasting a dozen LGBTQIA-exclusive resorts (most clothing optional), laid-back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/Fort-Lauderdale-Hotels.d601750.Travel-Guide-Hotels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fort Lauderdale<\/a> remains\u00a0the quintessential weekend gaycation demanding only swimming, sunning, boozing and relaxing. The city even boasts a campaign aimed at trans travelers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17. Idyll away\u00a0the summer at IDA: Middle Tennessee<br \/>\n<\/strong>Imagine a 200-acre farm\u2014in rural Tennessee of all places\u2014that ebulliently wraps its arms around a community of queer, transgender and non-binary people in the form of work projects, art making, and community building and that&#8217;s IDA (aka Idyll Dandy Arts). Come during summer and be treated to Idapalooza, a festival of music that brings in hundreds and helps pay for\u00a0and maintain this vital safe space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18. Time share\u00a0a summer home\u00a0with a half dozen\u00a0besties: Fire Island, NY<br \/>\n<\/strong>Scorching summer heat\u00a0sends New Yorkers fleeing their city in droves come June\u00a0and it just so happens they have a quick getaway in the form of a pastoral sand bar where queers have gathered openly for more than 50 years.
