World’s tallest Holiday Inn, Manhattan<\/p><\/div>\n

Only inn<\/em> New York
\n<\/strong>The Big Apple adds a new superlative to its list, says USA Today<\/a>. The world’s tallest\u2014drum roll, please\u2014Holiday Inn <\/a>made its Manhattan debut this week. The 50-story hotel stand 493-feet tall and sits in Lower Manhattan with views of the Hudson River and One World Trade Center. Rates start at $250 per night. We hope they keep the iconic sign otherwise how are we supposed to see it while we’re road tripping through Lower Manhattan in our 1960 Plymouth Fury Sedan?<\/p>\n

The touring dead<\/strong>
\nVisitors are flocking to Atlanta<\/a> to experience AMC’s hit “The Walking Dead.” According to CNN<\/a>, “Big Zombie” bus tours are taking tourists to iconic sites from the hit show including the hospital where sheriff Rick Grimes wakes up in episode one and the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre which stood in for the CDC. Tours cost $65 per person and include unlimited bitching about the character Carl.<\/p>\n

Maid of dishonor<\/strong>
\nAccording to FOX News<\/a>, a chamber maid at a “brand-named” American hotel was filmed by a guest who used his laptop to record the cleaning woman’s actions, which included looking through the guest’s suitcase, using his tablet device and fiddling with the very laptop used to record her. The video has been viewed 1.2 million times on YouTube which suggests the #AlexfromTarget crowd has moved on to its next shiny new object.<\/p>\n

Good news on the Verizon<\/strong>
\nFirst there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now get ready for Connection Day. According to mashable.com<\/a>, telecom giant Verizon plans to make the Wednesday before Thanksgiving\u2014one of the worst travel days of the year\u2014better with access to mobile movies, discounted apps, a special iTunes offer and more. Sadly, decent customer service is not part of the deal.<\/p>\n

Morning in America<\/strong>
\nTravel & Leisure<\/em><\/a> has compiled a list of the best breakfasts in the U.S. and it’s a mouthwatering list that includes Russ & Daughters, a 100-year-old breakfast staple in New York<\/a> that has just opened a sit-down cafe, flapjacks-obsessed Griddles Cafe in Los Angeles<\/a> and Chicago<\/a>‘s retro chic diner Little Goat among others. It’s a pretty legit list, but we just have four words to the editors over at T&L<\/em>: America runs on Dunkin’.<\/p>\n
