Its dramatic dining room serves as an opulent gilded and marble-laden backdrop for Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse’s culinary masterpieces, including a John Dory fish served atop a puree of turnip tops.<\/p>\n

When in Chicago<\/a> \u2014 especially if the weather is warm \u2014 head to Hotel Lincoln<\/a>\u2019s J. Parker, which offers stunning Lake Michigan views from the comfort of a rooftop patio. Pickled-centric, locally driven fare from lauded chef Paul Virant rules the menu.<\/p>\n

Harkening back to the supper club era, the Blue Room at New Orleans<\/a>\u2019 Roosevelt Hotel<\/a> is mighty hard to beat. Having hosted luminaries from Louis Armstrong and Ray Charles to Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, the restaurant continues to host live performances and events. For something more contemporary, though, there\u2019s neighboring Domenica, a smart spot for pizza topped with Gorgonzola, Chilton County apples, speck and pecans.<\/p>\n

But if all-out extravagance is what you seek, a trip to Cip’s Club on Venice’s Giudecca Island is a must.
