The 37th annual Tianguis Turistico, Mexico’s annual tourism conference that took place last month in Puerto Vallarta, provided lots of opportunities for companies and destinations to share the latest business travel and Mexico vacation<\/a> news — including a slew of new hotels that offer lots of amenities and services for both business travelers and vacationers.<\/p>\n

Among the top new picks:<\/p>\n

\u2022 New business-friendly hotels on the Pacific coast include the all-inclusive Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa<\/a>, which opened in 2011 with more than 9,000 square feet of meeting space, and Secrets Huatulco Resort & Spa<\/a>, which has a 7,000-square-foot ballroom for private get-togethers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 In Cancun, the 562-room Riu Palace Peninsula<\/a> debuts this year, marking Riu’s fourth hotel in this popular destination for meetings and vacations. The existing Cancun Palace<\/a>, meanwhile, will become the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun this year, as part of a major conversion of fourPalace properties. The new, all-inclusive Hard Rock will feature the brand’s signature rock-themed decor, as well as five restaurants, five bars and lounges, a spa and a refurbished, 16,408-square-foot convention center.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Just south of Cancun is the Riviera Maya, where the 489-room Aventura Cove Palace<\/a> and the adults-only, 777-room Aventura Spa Palace<\/a> will become Hard Rock hotels later this year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Business travelers and anyone planning a Mexico vacation in major urban centers have a new hotel name to consider: Real Inn, a chain that launched in January with the\u00a0Real Inn Tlalnepantla<\/a>, just north of Mexico City. The mid-scale brand belongs to Grupo Real Turismo, which operates upscale properties such as the Camino Real Polanco<\/a> and the Quinta Real Guadalajara<\/a>. The company plans to open 13 hotels per year over the next three years, focusing on business hubs including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Torreon \u00a0and Ciudad Juarez.<\/p>\n
