But not everyone digs pigskin, much less the onslaught of beer-riddled commercials. So, why not get the heck out of dodge and make a break for the <strong>Bahamas Music Fest<\/strong>? Slotted for Feb. 3-6, it\u2019s an ideal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/App\/PerformMDLPDealsContent?deal_id=beach&amp;cnt=PKHtype&amp;=blog\">beach vacation<\/a> \u2013 and avoidance of all things NFL.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Offering a weekend\u2019s worth of live music in Nassau \u2013 complete with appearances from Eric Ben\u00e9t, Doug E. Fresh and Alex Bugnon \u2013 it\u2019s part cultural festival, part beach bash, and it arrives right when travelers are no doubt longing for balmy, tropical weather. Performances, which range from contemporary R&amp;B to jazz, take place at the sun-drenched <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/Bahamas\/Nassau\/Wyndham_Nassau_Resort.h50444\/\">Wyndham Nassau Resort<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/Bahamas\/Nassau\/Sheraton_Nassau_Beach_Resort.h237902\/\">Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort<\/a>. Beach parties and seminars are scheduled all weekend long, too. Given there\u2019s a casino situated between the properties, it\u2019s safe to bet there will be some gambling as well, and poolside DJs will be thrown into the mix.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, though, given the Bahamas are situated just beneath Florida, temps hover between the mid-60s and upper 70s this time of year. So, it makes sense to expand the Bahamas music fest-bent to include Spanish, West African and British-inflected meals \u2013 culinary traditions reflected throughout the islands \u2013 and, perhaps sipping and swirling of cellar selections at the posh <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orbitz.com\/hotel\/Bahamas\/Nassau\/Graycliff_Hotel_&amp;_Restaurant.h105659\/\">Graycliff Hotel &amp; Restaurant<\/a>.
