Aromatherapy, home-baked treats, loan of a Burberry raincoat? These are hotel perks we\u2019re talking about, but probably not for the guest you imagine. These amenities are for the dogs, literally. Yes, book a night at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park<\/a>, with your pet and get the Pampered Pooch package, whichincludes a bone-shaped pet pillow, aromatherapy coat spritz treatments, home-baked dog treats, and — in case of inclement weather — the loan of a Burberry waterproof coat.<\/p>\n

If the Ritz and its access to Fifth Avenue shopping is for uptown dogs, downtown dogs might want to check out the W New York, Union Square<\/a>, which has a \u201cP.A.W.\u201d (pets are welcome) policy. Dogs and cats that check in with owners get a pet toy, treat, special W hotels pet tag and cleanup bags — Fifi and Mimi do need to mind their manners, after all. In-room finds a pet bed, food and water bowl and a special turndown treat.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the Peninsula New York <\/a>in midtown, which caters to both dogs and cats with a rather unusual video rental program. \u201cThe Adventures of Milo and Otis,\u201d \u201cHomeward Bound I\u201d and \u201cHomeward Bound II,\u201d plus \u201cNational Geographic\u2019s Those Wonderful Dogs\u201d can all be ordered via the front desk. They\u2019ll complement the drinking and dining bowls, placemat and a litter box for cats and small dogs that comes standard when you notify the hotel you\u2019ll be toting a pet.<\/p>\n

All three hotels offer access to dog walking. And if you happen to be traveling on your furry one\u2019s birthday, a birthday cake isn\u2019t out of the question at the Union Square W, either.<\/p>\n
