Business travelers and vacationers will have yet another brand to consider when taking longer trips. In September, Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that it is \u201cevolving\u201d its extended-stay brand into a new concept, called Hyatt House — and that it would rebrand its 38 existing Hyatt Summerfield Suites hotels, as well as 16 Hotel Sierra hotels that Hyatt recently acquired from a company called LodgeWorks, L.P.<\/p>\n

The hotels are to be reflagged with the new name by early 2012, according to Hyatt. Service upgrades and remodeling will take place over the course of the year.<\/p>\n

Among the new Hyatt House elements to be introduced is the Great Lounge, a multi-purpose area with new furnishings, lots of outlets and a glass-enclosed game room with an entertainment system and pool table. The Great Lounge will also be home to the H Bar, which functions as a free breakfast bar in the morning and a cocktail area in the evening. Each hotel will host a daily Open House with food and drinks at happy hour prices, offered seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Each of the Hyatt House hotels will have a backyard area, with a kitchen and conversation area as well as a fire pit.<\/p>\n

Guest quarters include studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with kitchens. A redesigned guest market will be stocked with traditional and gourmet grocery items, and personal shopping services will also be available.<\/p>\n

Hoplamazian, president and chief executive officer of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. \u201cWe\u2019ve created what we believe will be a very successful concept — one that is social and sophisticated, yet casual and comfortable, and really allows guests to feel like residents of a connected neighborhood and community. I\u2019m confident that with Hyatt House, we have the opportunity to repeat the same success we\u2019ve had with Andaz and Hyatt Place, which have redefined their categories since their introduction.\u201d<\/p>\n
