So many new shows<\/a> have been opening on the Strip and in all the Las Vegas Hotels<\/strong><\/a>, that it seems almost impossible to keep up. I have to confess that despite my Strip-hound reputation, even I haven\u2019t had a chance to see them all. While I do, I figured the least I could do is give everyone a quick encyclopedic list of everything I have seen and would recommend (with a few I\u2019m aboutto see, based on strong tips).<\/p>\n

A<\/strong> is for affable but accomplished tiger tamer Dirk Arthur<\/strong>, of Xtreme Magic<\/strong> (two shows daily, Wed-Mon, Tropicana<\/a>) as well as Australians\u2014specifically Human Nature<\/strong>, the show-stopping Motown tribute singers from down under (8 PM Sat-Thurs, Imperial Palace).

\nB<\/strong> is for The Beatles LOVE<\/strong><\/a> (two shows nightly Thurs-Mon, Mirage<\/a>), Cirque du Soleil\u2019s pop rock celebration. B is also for Bette Midler<\/strong>, whose frolicky fun Showgirl Must Go On<\/strong> revue appears intermittent weekends at Caesars Colosseum. Added to this list is the provocatively pungent Blue Man Group<\/strong> (Two shows nightly, Venetian<\/a> ) and Bite<\/strong>, the topless vampire rock musical you\u2019ve always wanted to see (10:30 PM Fri-Wed).<\/p>\n

C <\/strong>is for Cher<\/strong> (who trades off with Bette at the Colosseum in her fashion-filled career review) and the elegantly erotic Crazy Horse of Paris<\/strong> (two shows nightly Wed-Mon, MGM Grand<\/a>).<\/p>\n

D<\/strong> is for David Copperfield<\/strong>, certainly the most esteemed magician in town, performing intermittently at\u00a0 MGMGrand<\/a>.
\n
\nE<\/strong> is for Elvis<\/strong>, subject of the new Cirque du Soleil <\/strong>show coming to City Center in December, but already anxiously awaited.<\/p>\n

F<\/strong> is for the uniquely dark and disturbing Freaks<\/strong> (9 PM Tues-Sat, O\u2019Shea\u2019s) , as well as that other Beatles tribute Fab Four Live<\/strong> (5:30 PM nightly except Thurs, Planet Hollywood<\/a>).

\nG<\/strong> is for Goss, Matt Goss<\/strong>\u2014who\u2019s slick lounge show offers some Pussycat Dolls-in-training alongside moments of musical sincerity (10 PM Fri-Sat, Palms). Also, singing comic-impressionist Gordie Brown<\/strong> (7:30 PM Tues-Sat, Golden Nugget<\/a>).<\/p>\n

H<\/strong> is for darling Holly Madison<\/strong>, star attraction of powerhouse panty-party Peepshow (nightly except Wed, Planet Hollywood<\/a>) as well as Hitzville,<\/strong> that \u201cother\u201d (homegrown) Motown Revue (Tues-Sun, Harmon Theatre).<\/p>\n

I<\/strong> is for Ice<\/strong> (8 PM Sat-Thurs, Riviera) and Ignite<\/strong> (Tues-Sat, Greek Isles) two contrasting shows I\u2019ve been dying to check out not to mention the solid stand-ups of Improv at Harrah\u2019s <\/a>(two shows nightly except Monday).<\/p>\n

J <\/strong>is for Jersey Boys<\/strong>, the powerhouse Four Seasons tribute tale (various times nightly except Weds, Palazzo) and certainly Jubilee! the iconic showgirl revue (two shows nightly except Fridays).

\nK<\/strong> is for K\u00c1<\/strong>, the most dramatic of Cirque shows (two shows nightly, Tues-Sat, MGM Grand<\/a>) folksy and family-funny magician Mac King<\/strong> (two afternoon shows Tues-Sat, Harrah\u2019s) and Knights, the stars of cartoony chivalry battle Tournament of Kings (two shows nightly, with dinner, Excalibur<\/a>).<\/p>\n

L<\/strong> is for master magician Lance Burton<\/strong> who\u2019s back at his namesake theatre in the Monte Carlo (7 PM Tues-Sat). La Reve<\/strong>, the fantastical aerial and aquabatic spectacle at Wynn (two shows nightly) and certainly Lion King<\/strong>, the captivating live adaptation of Disney\u2019s animation (8 PM nightly except Fri; weekend matinees, Mandalay Bay<\/a>).<\/p>\n

M<\/strong> is for the Japanese acrobatics of Matsuri<\/strong> (4 PM daily, Imperial Palace) as well as Mystere<\/strong>, the iconic original Cirque show (two shows nightly, Sat-Wed, Treasure Island).<\/p>\n

N<\/strong> is for Nathan Burton<\/strong>, Flamingo<\/a>\u2019s funny and family friendly magician (4 PM daily except Mon & Thurs).<\/p>\n

O <\/strong>is for ‘O,’<\/strong> of course, the most romantic of all Cirque du Soleil shows, with a remarkable water-filled stage (Bellagio,<\/a> two shows Wed-Sat).<\/p>\n

P<\/strong> is for Penn & Teller<\/strong>, by far the most mindful magic men (9 PM Sat-Wed, Rio) plus Popovich\u2019s <\/strong>amusing for all-ages Pet Theatre (4 PM most days except Wed, Planet Hollywood<\/a>) and Purple Reign<\/strong>, the astounding and unstoppable Prince tribute (11 PM, Fri-Sun, Hooters).<\/p>\n

Q<\/strong> is for Queens of Las Vegas<\/a><\/strong>\u2014while female impersonators come and go on the Strip, this off-Strip revue (10 PM Fri-Sat at Freezone, 610 E. Naples) keeps on keepin\u2019 on!<\/p>\n

R<\/strong> could only be for the softly sardonic Rita Rudner<\/strong>, select dates at Harrah\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

S <\/strong>is for Sin City Bad Girls<\/strong>, the only topless show with its own rock band! (9 PM Mon-Sat, Hilton).<\/p>\n

T<\/strong> is for Terry Fator<\/strong>, the most impressive impressionist\/ singer\/ comedian\/ventriloquist you may ever see (7:30 PM Tues-Sat) as well as Toros Las Vegas<\/strong>, the bloodless bullfights taking place at South Point Oct 23-24 and Nov. 20-21.<\/p>\n

U<\/strong> is for Ultimate Manilow<\/strong>–Barry playing all his hits at the Hilton (Select Thurs-Sats, 8 PM).<\/p>\n

V<\/strong> is for V!<\/strong> the Ultimate Variety Show (two shows nightly, Planet Hollywood<\/a>), where I\u2019m told you get a bit of everything, except the expected.<\/p>\n

W<\/strong> is for Wayne Brady<\/strong>, who\u2019s still ‘Making *&%$ Up\u2019 with a great improv comedy\/music show (9 PM Thurs-Mon, Venetian)–as well as hosting Lets Make A Deal<\/strong> at the Tropicana.<\/p>\n

X<\/strong> means X Burlesque<\/strong>, showing–and we mean showing!\u2014nightly (10 PM, Flamingo<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Y<\/strong> is for You, meaning all the other people visiting Las Vegas, always the best entertainment in town.<\/p>\n

Z<\/strong>, finally is for none other than Zowie Bowie<\/strong>, the impossibly gorgeous high-energy new millennium Louis & Keely<\/strong>, now with a full band Vintage Vegas show (Fri-Sun, Monte Carlo<\/a>) not to forget the most intimate (in every way) sexy, sultry Cirque show Zumanity<\/strong> (two shows nightly except Mon, Thurs, New York, New York).<\/p>\n

Insider Tips:<\/strong> Chazz Palmintieri himself will be performing in A Bronx Tale Oct 7-18 only at Venetian; Other don\u2019t-miss performances this month include Mariah Carey Oct 9-10 in the Pearl at Palms, and Louis Prima Jr\u2019s a high energy, no prisoners tribute to his dad, Oct. 17 at M Resort.<\/p>\n
