Some people scoff atthe notion that the festive and frenzied Vegas Strip can be romantic, but perhaps they need to stop and smell the roses — literally. Valentine\u2019s Day visitors to Las Vegas hotels<\/a><\/strong> can celebrate their special someone in so many ways — sultry, secluded, sentimental or sassy. Let me offer just a few suggestions.<\/p>\n

A Romantic Meal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fine dining is everywhere in Vegas — but some restaurants are better situatated for a cozy tete-a-tete than others. Guy Savoy<\/strong> (Caesars Palace<\/a>) and The Mansion by Joel Robuchon<\/strong> (MGM Grand<\/a>) would certainly be first choices if you want your darling to know money isn\u2019t an object. Other romantic rooms include the breathtaking Alex<\/strong> (enter from South valet), Bartolotta<\/strong> and Daniel Boulud<\/strong> at Wynn<\/a>, Aureole<\/strong> and Fleur de Lys<\/strong> at Mandalay Bay<\/a>; Prime<\/strong>, Olives<\/strong> and Le Cirque<\/strong> at Bellagio<\/a>, Valentino<\/strong> or B&B Ristorante<\/strong> at The Venetian<\/a>, Michael Mina\u2019s recently revamped Nobhill Tavern<\/strong> (also MGM — request a secluded booth), the newly redecorated Andre\u2019s<\/strong> (Monte Carlo<\/a>), DJT<\/strong> at Trump<\/a>, Hank\u2019s<\/strong> (Green Valley Ranch<\/a>), The Range<\/strong> (Harrah\u2019s<\/a>) and downtown, Vic & Anthony\u2019s Steakhouse<\/strong> (Golden Nugget<\/a>). Many of the above even have secluded wine cellar tables\u2026<\/p>\n

A View To A Thrill<\/strong><\/p>\n

If seeing the stars and the Strip are in order, there are many fine view options, starting of course with the Stratosphere\u2019s<\/a> Top of The World<\/strong> restaurantand including The Capital Grille<\/strong> (Fashion Show Mall), Eiffel Tower Restaurant<\/strong> (Paris<\/a>),Voodoo<\/strong> (Rio<\/a>), Nove<\/strong> and Alize<\/strong> at Palms<\/a>. The newly remodeled Binion\u2019s Ranch Steakhouse<\/strong> downtown is said to have a cool view, too. Don\u2019t forget to request (i.e. demand) a window seat with your reservation.<\/p>\n

Something Sweet?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nearly every restaurant is guaranteed to have some amazing chocolate desserts on offer — but if chocolate fondue is your particular quest, may I point you in the direction of some cool varieties at Cathouse<\/strong> (Luxor<\/a>), Dos Caminos<\/strong> (Palazzo<\/a>), Koi <\/strong>(Planet Hollywood<\/a>), or, on a more casual level, Ethel\u2019s Chocolate Lounge<\/strong> in the Fashion Show Mall<\/strong>? For fine chocolates, almost every major resort has good choices, but I\u2019d startat Jean-Phillippe<\/strong> (Bellagio), Payard<\/strong> (Caesars Palace), Vosges<\/strong> (Forum Shops) or Ethel\u2019s. <\/p>\n

Show Me\"Las-Vegas-nightclub\"<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Should a show be in your sights, my first \u201cdate\u201d choices among the regular shows on the Strip would be Cirque Du Soleil<\/strong>\u2019s aquatic-exotic "O<\/strong>" (Bellagio),the dramatically dark Phantom<\/strong> (Venetian) or tastefully seductive Crazy Horse<\/strong> of Paris<\/strong> topless revue (MGM Grand)\u2026 Among the performers in town for the weekend, my personal picks would be either Chris Isaak<\/strong> or the Valentine\u2019s Love Affair<\/strong> (soul veterans including Zapp, Rose Royce, Jojo from Mary Jane Girls, Temprees, Honeycone, William DeVaughn), both coincidently at the Orleans hotel<\/a>\u2026 And if a bottle of bubb in the club is more the mode, take yourselves to XS (Encore<\/a>), Blush (Wynn), Tabu (MGM) or Cathouse<\/strong>. <\/strong>On short notice, check out one of the Top 10 Las Vegas lounges<\/a> I recently blogged about, particularly Fontana<\/strong> (Bellagio), Parasol<\/strong> (Wynn), Koi <\/strong>and Striphouse<\/strong> (both Planet Hollywood), West Wing<\/strong> (MGM), or Japonais<\/strong> (Mirage<\/a>). <\/p>\n

 \"Las-Vegas-spa\"<\/a>Ah, There\u2019s The Rub<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Hopefully, your celebration is lasting longer than the evening. If so, one of the best activities I can recommend (in a \u201cfamily\u201d blog, anyway) is sharing a couples spa treatment. You\u2019ll be seeing a complete review of Vegas spas here soon\u2026 but in the meantime, some with great couples treatment packages include the spas at Encore, Trump, MGM Grand <\/strong>and Ritz-Carlton<\/strong>. The Four Seasons, THEHotel, Bellagio, Red Rock, JW Marriott <\/strong>and Venetian<\/strong> are other properties with highly regarded spas.<\/p>\n

Get A Room<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maybe this should be the first piece of advice, not the (next to) last, but I hate to assume\u2026 Anyway, if I can persuade you lovers to indulge in a one-bedroom suite, my strongest suggestions would include those at Red Rock, Palms Place, Planet Hollywood<\/strong> (Bellagio fountain views!) and Golden Nugget<\/strong> (Spa tower). <\/p>\n

Insider Tip<\/strong>: Elton John just announced his Red Piano show at Caesars Palace will close April 22, so don\u2019t miss a chance to see it. And splurge for good seats, it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n
