The Big Easy celebrates Halloween with four days of parties — all for charity — with the 2009 Halloween New Orleans<\/a><\/strong> event. This year marks the 26th year of parties and fundraising. The mission is to provide funding for Project Lazarus, a home in New Orleans for men and women with AIDS, so that they may provide health care and support services for their residents. Total donations to Project Lazarus from the 2008 event surpassed $4 million.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme of “Twisted Seasons” will give each night of the event a different seasonal backdrop, each with a little twist of Halloween New Orleans!<\/p>\n

Thursday — “An Autumn Indulgence” at The Shops at Canal Place:<\/strong>
\nThe kickoff for Halloween New Orleans, this “dressier” event features a taste of New Orleans food from restaurants around the city<\/strong>, silent auction and a performance by America’s Got Talent\u2019s Amy and Freddy.<\/p>\n

Friday — ” Wicked Winter Wonderland” at Generations Hall<\/strong>:
\nAt this popular dance club in the Warehouse district, DJ Seth Cooper will warm you up with his hot smile and tunes, but get ready to dance through a blizzard!<\/p>\n

Saturday — “A Midsummer Night’s SCREAM” at Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World<\/strong>:
\nThis brand new location on the East Bank of the Mississippi promises to be a night to remember. Rarely happening on Halloween night, this costume extravaganza and DJ Roland Belmares-led dance party is bound to be full of Halloween treats (and tricks!) The official Halloween New Orleans Costume Contest<\/strong> will take place at 11 p.m., and the\u00a0 midnight show is sure to thrill! Amazing Host lounge! Note: the theme of Saturday implies Shakespeare, but word on the street is dark and scary — it\u2019s Halloween! Feel free to buck the system, but remember: you must be in costume to attend.<\/p>\n

Sunday — “Spring Rejuvenation” on the Natchez Riverboat<\/strong>:
\nA perfect way to end the weekend for visitors and residents alike. Experience the beauty and romance of the New Orleansskyline on the authentic Steamboat NATCHEZ, New Orleans’ only authentic steamboat! Lunch, entertainment and dancing on the third floor deck.<\/p>\n

This is sure to be one of the biggest Halloweens yet! This year, New Orleans also is hosting a huge convention and the VooDoo Music Experience over Halloween weekend, so I recommend booking a New Orleans hotel room early to secure your spot!<\/p>\n
