It\u2019s another fascinating phenomenon of Fun City: while most travel destinations might react to a slower season by offering less options, Las Vegas hotels<\/strong><\/a>, it seems, are actually offering more — at least when it comes to entertainers. New production shows and residencies have opened all over town in recent weeks (two, Human Nature<\/strong> and Mitsuri<\/strong> at Imperial Palace<\/a><\/strong> alone!), and this August-September, as usual, there\u2019s a parade of big names coming through.<\/p>\n

Rockers of all stripes are rushing the stages in the next few weeks: August 19, Kings of Leon<\/strong> hit Hard Rock Hotel<\/strong><\/a>\u2026on Aug. 21, Green Day<\/strong> take Mandalay Bay<\/a><\/strong> while Traffic veteran Dave Mason<\/strong> makes a rare intimate lounge appearance at Santa Fe Station<\/a><\/strong>\u2026 Toby Keith<\/strong> scoots into Red Rock<\/a><\/strong> Aug. 29.<\/p>\n

Come September, Santana<\/strong> returns to the Hard Rock’s Joint the 4th-15th…Cheap Trick<\/strong> will begin their Sgt. Pepper performances at the LV Hilton<\/a><\/strong> (from Sept. 13)\u2026 on the 19th, Mandalay Bay hosts both The Killers<\/strong> (at the Event Center) and the B-52s<\/strong> at House of Blues, \u2026where on the 22nd, another ’80s chart-topper Psychedelic Furs<\/strong> performs\u2026<\/p>\n

In September, Mariah Carey<\/strong> will test the waters for a residency with Sept. 11-12 shows at the relatively intimate Pearl atthe Palms<\/a><\/strong>\u2026while Latino star Luis Miguel<\/strong> takes Caesars Palace<\/a><\/strong> Sept. 12-15, John Legend <\/strong>souls out the Red Rock<\/strong> Sept. 18, and Britney Spears<\/strong> returns to stake her claim Sept. 26-27 at Mandalay Bay.<\/p>\n

Vegas legends are also front and center these days. In addition to Strip headliners Donny & Marie<\/strong> (returning to the Flamingo<\/a> <\/strong>Aug. 18), Bette Midler<\/strong> (Caesars Palace from Aug. 11), Barry Manilow<\/strong> (returning Aug. 27 to the LV Hilton) and Charo<\/strong> (ongoing at Riviera<\/a><\/strong>),<\/p>\n
